Cain Fighting Back
Legal Insurrection ^ | 12-1-11 | jacobsen

Posted on 12/01/2011 12:05:38 PM PST by VinL

He’s seeking Ginger White’s phone records, and denying that the alleged trip to the Tyson-Holyfield fight (the one where Tyson bit his ear) ever took place. Someone is lying, and we owe it to ourselves and the process to find out who.

From the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

A review of the records by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution shows Cain sent 17 text messages to White, almost always responding to messages from her.

On Wednesday, Wood sent a letter to White’s attorney, Edward Buckley, asking for her phone records to “test her credibility and motive” for coming forward to the media. Wood, in the letter, said he wanted to “ascertain whether the decision to grant interviews was politically motivated and to determine whether she has received or [been] promised money for participating.” ….

She claims the retired McDonough executive lavished her with gifts and flew her around the country to meet him at places where he was speaking, or on one occasion, to Las Vegas to watch a Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield boxing match. Cain denies that trip happened.

And now that the allegation is out there, anyone see Cain at the Tyson-Holyfield fight, or ever hear him talk about being at it? We now have a definitive provable or unprovable fact.

Also, from Taegan Goddard:

Meanwhile, John DiStaso spoke to a prominent Cain supporter in New Hampshire who reports Cain told him that “today and tomorrow there will be releases of very important information concerning this woman and her claims and he said it will be good news for Herman Cain.”

I’m glad Cain is fighting back. Either he will be exposed as a liar, or he will be vindicated. We’re entitled to one of those, rather than the vague media frenzy netherworld the allegations now occupy.

Congrats to Newt on the Ras poll- wish him only the best. But, I still think Cain/Newt is the better ticket. All considered, I hope Mr. Cain will not drop out. Notwithstanding the poll, I'm certain no other candidate will pack it in-- this primary season has been unarguably volatile. Accordingly, the only apparent reason for Mr. Cain to drop out- would be these latest character allegations. And, for the sake of conservatives (and potentially, Newt), Mr. Cain must not cave to the media/establishment's effort to focus this election on character- when the only issue is Mr. Obama.

The Boxing match between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield was on June 28, 1997. That was 14 years ago, a year before the alleged affair.

Looks like he’s done his reassessment and is implementing the decisions following it. :-)

I am with you. Isn’t it interesting that only 17 NOT 61 texts came from Cain and all IN RESPONSE to stuff from her. The only way to make sure this stupid mud slinging stops is for us voters to ignore it and get on with business.

Go Herman Go!!!!! Speaking for my fellow women ( because NOW has been strangely silent) it’s women and tactics like these that make it difficult for women who are suffering REAL abuse in the workplace or at home. Who will believe them now.

Ginger is hard up for cash. Perhaps she can get an endorsement deal with Carpet Fresh. Rug Doctor? (What...too subtle?)

“I still think Cain/Newt is the better ticket. “

I truly don’t want you to be unhappy, but that wish is never going to come true.

Newt and Cain a friends, Cain has value that Newt could use in his administration, so I figure that if he wants it, Newt will give him a good job... where he can make a difference.

I like Cain but it looks like his cards slipped and he has a loser hand.

If this is exposed as libel, everybody who is truly conservative needs to push back against the jerks who did this - probably Obama’s people. They’re not fighting Romney and Gingrich like this; they’re fighting Cain because he is the one who really understands who are enemies of this republic.

If they can get away with libel, that’s all we’ll ever get. Our defenses have to stand strong on this right now, in the war between the democrat-media cabal and the truth. If Cain is innocent and backs down from this battle, we will have lost an opportunity to flip the democrat-media cabal the bird by showering support on Cain.

By now we should know that the real battle of this election is not between the candidates at all; it’s between a lying incestuous DC media-political cabal and those of us who still care about the truth. The cabal has dictated the outcomes far, far too long. The cancer is out of control; either we excise it or it kills us.

I hope he turns the tables on every single one of these establishment props and SUES their money-grubbing a$$e$ for slander. I don’t believe for one minute that even ONE of these claims is true.

I have seen zero proof that Herman Cain did any of the things he’s been accused of.

Cain sure could get a lot of foreign affair experience as Vice President and would benefit him as President down the road!

She claimed a 13 year affair but I don't when it started (if ever) and stopped, not just now though.

Gator, my friend, I say this calmly and with all respect to you-— the tenor of your comment is just the type that divides people on this board. One candidate’s supporters go on a thread and tell the other candidate’s support that his/her candidate is doomed.

I don’t understand why- Why do you find the need to tell me my “wish is never going to come true”? Next you’ll be telling to there’s no Santa Claus— and so near to Christmas.

If bursting my bubble makes YOU happy- that’s fine.

-:)

If Obama isn’t defeated there may be no “down the road” to worry about. It’s like a field goal for the win with one second left on the clock; if that field goal misses, the game is over. Obama has said he needs 4 more years to “finish the job”. Does anybody even doubt that “the job” he’s trying to do is to destroy this nation via a communist-Islamist revolution?

If our candidate can’t go through the uprights that’s the end of the line. That’s how serious this situation is. If our candidate goes through the uprights and then continues the same-old same-old cesspool corruption and lawlessness that got us here in the first place, that puts us in sudden-death overtime at best.

I wish we had the luxury of thinking long-term. I think we are too close to the end for that right now. I saw a headline about Obama saying his kids will succeed even if America doesn’t. I haven’t read the story, but it would not surprise me a bit if Obama is PLANNING on his daughters living in a post-America world. He’s thinking that if the communist-Islamists take over America there will still be a future for girls - besides wearing burqas and waiting at home to find out what their male relatives will allow them to do.

I would like to see the record of calls/texts on her phone for the last 4 weeks.

Who she is talking to during this period would be really interesting.

Nif, raise your bet here. What’s interesting, according to what I just read, 70 SEVENTY exchanges went back and forth between 10/22/11- and 11/15/11.

This fact takes me back to the Blyak (sp) woman’s conduct, who went and hugged Mr. Cain at a tea party rally.

I’m not going to disparage anyone until the evidence is in, but this conduct seems to suggest the possibility that they were both trying to “create a record” in advance of their public declarations.
