Vanity: Did anyone catch Newt on Hannity last nite?

Posted on 12/01/2011 10:17:53 AM PST by Maceman

I don't have time to write about my reaction, but I would be interested in the perspective of my fellow Freepers.

Personally, I thought Newt was VERY impressive, and for a whole hour.

I still haven't decided whom to support (not that it matters, since the Massachusetts primary is not going be a game changer anyway).

I have been in Cain's camp, but I am reassessing in light of what I perceive as the Cain team's mis-management of the whole sex attack thing.

Also, rightly or wrongly, unless Cain manages to win a very sympathetic public vindication in a very short time I am seriously doubting his ability to continue in this race.

I'm sad about that. But I was greatly impressed by Newt last nite for a lot of reasons I don't have time to get into just now.

What did alla y'alls think?

Because you have no idea what conservative means.

Clue: Opposite of Noot.

To quote Newt Gingrich, US Speaker of the House of Representatives, “Alvin and Heidi Toffler have given us the key to viewing current disarray within the positive framework of a dynamic, exciting future... The Tofflers correctly understand the development and distribution of information that has become the central productivity and power activity of the human race.... In the Third Wave, the Tofflers moved from observation (found in earlier works such as Future Shock) to creating a predictive framework They placed the information revolution (from circa 1990) in an historical perspective, comparing it with the other two great transformations, the agricultural revolution (beginning 8000 B.C thru around 1700) the industrial revolution (beginning around 1700 and still spreading across world society in an ever slower movement) . According to the Tofflers, we are feeling the impact of the third great wave of change in history, and we are, as a result, in the process of creating a new civilization.” (Preface to Toffler’s Creating a New Civilization)

Yes, I can see what you mean. He is promoting mass killings right there in that foreword. Sorry I was wrong.

Read the damn book and get the cobwebs out of your head.

Noot and the Tofflers are humanists.

They absolutely believe in the perfectibility of Man, not the total depravity of man as stated in God’s word.

New Age, get it?

Don’t use that tone with me.

Newt’s a Catholic.

Your tone seems to be more associated w/ the Liberal way of doing things than Conservative ones. They tend to scream a lot & call people names & such. That might explain a lot.

My tone is associated with disgust at those that push global socialist new agers off as patriotic conservatives.

You and Noot are left of liberal.

You openly post lies and fluff to promote the most insidious man to ever run as a Republican.

We’ve had enough of your hope and change. We need to roll back to sanity.

Catholic is meaningless.

Catholic new agers are common. Christians are what is rare among RCs

Perhaps you’re one of the New Agers? - It’s the diametric opposite of conservative.

Just how would you have handled such a false and criminal attack, with a complicit propaganda ministry carrying the ball for the libelists?

Well, for one thing, I wouldn't have had my campaign manager out there speculating that Rick Perry's team was behind it without evidence, so I'd have to walk it back.

And I wouldn't have gone out and made a half-assed public response off the cuff within hours, so that I would appear to be embellishing or revising the story as I went along that evening. I would have waited a day at least until I had my team on the same page and my response well thought out.

And however little information I got from Politico ten days before publication, once I heard from them I would have done some scenario planning, thought long and hard about anything -- ANYTHING -- in my past that could be twisted into a sexual harassment claim, and would have begun to develop at least a rudimentary strategy for handling some type of impending crisis.

Cain's team was caught flat-footed with ten days notice that something related to his past encounters with women -- however misconstrued -- was going to be dropped.

During that time, his team could have at least began reaching out to people who could have vouched for Cain's character, and prepped them to be available.

That said, I believe Cain is innocent of these accusations. But I had expected that one of his core strengths would have been to assemble a team that could handle the kind of crises that politics produces. Certainly, he should have had some kind of rapid response function in place months before this whole thing erupted.

More recently, even his use of the word "reassess," and then subsequent retraction that he was in this race to stay, followed by his appearance on Cavuto where he really did appear to be unsure of whether or not he would end his campaign, has led me further to contemplate that he really has not put together a competent team. And that is a major disappointment.

Like I thought, you’re an anti-Cain troll.

Amember of Perry’s campaign was totally behind it: Wilson.

His public response was honest and accurate, and appropriate.

There never was a sexual harrasment claim. Scenario planning is something a guilty party like Noot would have had to do.

There is no way that Cain could have handled it any more than Clarence Thomas could have. The mediots just lied, and morphed it whatever way they pleased as usual.

Like I thought, you’re an anti-Cain troll.

You couldn't be more wrong. I have been on the Cain train for a long time. In fact, back in May I actually contacted Cain's operatives in NH and Iowa to see whether I could offer my skills to the Cain campaign. (Unfortunately, the two that I spoke with left the campaign some time later.)

I just have not been impressed at the way Cain and his team have handled this. Maybe you disagree, which is your right. But you have no reason to call names, least of all a troll. You owe me an apology, which I won't hold my breath waiting for.

Instead of holding your breath, do some thinking.

Cain’s accusers are so unbelievable to begin with, how can you lay blame on Cain?

Did you blame Clarence Thomas too?

This is about defending the Plantation, and they will do it to the death. We have to nominate Cain and let them self destruct in their madness, and they will.

When the sayer is Newt, what he says is irrelevant. He is a skilled and glib liar that will gladly tell you what you want to hear.

You’re better off for not hearing it.

Some of these newer sign ups trying to sow discontent are probably DUmmies. I know freepers troll the DU idiots at times(I admit Im a flamer over there its hilarious to tear down their liberal messiah), and Im sure the libtard imbeciles are here to try and say that all the GOP are unelectable so the default choice is Obama. Sorry doesnt work on me and hope it doesn’t work on most. Watch people post history folks, then you will know them by their fruits...Anyone at this point is better than Obama, anyone.
