Dayton, Ohio (CNN) Embattled Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is keeping mum on whether he will remain in the race for the GOP nomination.
When asked by CNN if he is vowing to continue his campaign, Cain declined to give a direct response.
"We are reassessing and reevaluating," Cain said.
Cain said he would have a final answer about his future plans soon.
"We will be making a decision in the next several days," Cain said.

Perry has a flat tax.
“We will be making a decision in the next several days,” Cain said.

“We’ll see how our polling numbers are. And hope and pray that we have no more bimbo eruptions.”
I question his commitment though. Cain has pushed for this over a decade.
I can't imagine having to “think about it” once you are in the fight.
What his supporters and donors think with that answer?
I think I’d have to vote for Paul. At least nothing will get done in washington for 4 years and that will be a blessing.
Maybe someone can talk some sense into Palin to go Tea Party.
Things aren’t looking good for our team.
We are reassessing and reevaluating,” Cain said.
Sounds like reconsidering to me. lol
I guess this is ‘today’s’ comment, which would be the latest BREAKING NEWS!
He’s having his people ‘think’ for him.
It’s so maddening. The country is falling apart and all you see about zero are his sycophants at his speeches. By their coverage of the One, you’d think we were entering a golden age of peace and prosperity. What problems they do report has nothing to do with him ever.
Just saying that makes him seem that he is finished
Not true. Campaigning is very cash-intensive, and I don’t think it’s incumbent on Mr. Cain to personally write those paychecks or sustain the expense bills. The “re-assessment” is no doubt a financial one, as no candidate can stay in the race without the money coming in.
It’s looking though that *commitment* isn’t one of Cain’s strong suites.
Perry usually follows through with his promises.
Seeing all that in one line made me bust out laughing. Thanks for the humor on such a dreary day.
So I take it you have never helped out a fellow American down on there luck. Some of us American still do that.
Geez since when does someone with your phone number that you have helped out in the past mean you are boning them.
If they had any real evidence if would already been pasted all over the news. 13 Years and no Pictures, No souvenirs no nothing except phone bills yea right. And 60 calls over 13 years does sound like much of an affair yet we are to believe that he carried her to swanky restaurants and motels even to a boxing match.
Incase no one has done the math 60 calls over 13 years is 1 call every 2.6 months.
I said his payment gives CREDIT to the woman’s charges. I did NOT say it proved the truth of her claims. While I am skeptical of the recent spate of women I can say that Cain’s candidacy is failing for many reasons and these “ladies” are not helping.
The other day he might be leaving the race. Yesterday, he’s staying in. Today, he might be leaving.
What a way to run a railroad.
The GULLIBLE believe what they hear from a rumor.
Americans believe that one is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
Gullible Americans are called RINOS.
RINOS believe in everything, and stand for nothing.
I do not understand this line of thinking at all. There IS a legal remedy, whether she's lying or not: sue her for slander. She has offered no reasonable evidence, and for an accusation so serious her proof should be rock solid. Furthermore, Cain does not need a "defense" against her. It is she who had better be prepared to defend herself. The woman has virtually assaulted not only Cain and his family, but the political process which should not be manipulated by unsubstantiated allegations of immorality. As I've said before, without: DNA, unambiguous video/audio, or a confession from Cain himself, this already-adjudged libeler and self-described adulteress needs to be hauled into court and made to put up or pay up (not just to Cain but to society).
I think we’re agreeing. I think legal action is needed, quickly.
The reason I said “if she is lying” (which I believe she is) is because if she is not, calling her out and demanding proof is likely to not be a good move.
Not doing anything is not a good idea either.
This is the ultimate CIRCUS. Cain says he is re-assessing his campaign on Tuesday morning. That story hits news outlets. Then, his campaign chief and his spokespeople say on Tuesday evening, HELL NO, he will never drop out. Then, on Wednesday afternoon Cain himself again confirms his original Tuesday stance.
All Cainiacs should get a clue that even if he gets over this issue, he has no control of his campaign.
