...I have no hero's, but I loved Goldwater. Is there anyone that emulates or embraces this philosophy?maybe Ron Paul deserves another look? I know he is crazy, but he is a small government guy, just saying.
Goldwater's 1964 campaign slogan: "In your heart, you know he's right"
His opposition turned that into: "In your guts, you know he's nuts,"
See any similarities in how the establishment fights back against any threat to their big government power?

Lol, I like Paul, he is my Congressman and he is pretty good on spending. He loses me with his blame America foreign policy, even thou he does have some good points about the neocon nation building binge we been on lately. He’s a little weak on the boarder security/amnesty too I think, which is a deal breaker for me. But on domestic policy Paul is the best IMHO.

...Been having talks with a fellow on another thread about the Goldwater "In your guts, you know he's nuts," deal. I was too young in 64, but I remember the emergence of the libertarian party 72 and have leaned that way in my philosophy. Ron Paul is being demonized the same way on FR. I disagree with him on a couple of issues, but, voted for him before. Too early to say now, but, with the current clowns to choose from, I might (as they say and are dead wrong) waste my vote. That "throwing away your vote" crap is a whole other argument entirely.
