After reports surfaced Tuesday morning that pizza magnate Herman Cain is reassessing his 2012 Republican presidential nomination bid, POLITICO obtained a statement from a Cain campaign spokesman regarding his candidates consideration of dropping out of the race.
Yes, the campaign spokesman said Tuesday when asked whether Cain would definitely remain in the race.
The clarification comes after the National Review Online released statements that Cain made in a conference call with campaign aides Tuesday morning. During the call, Cain made the following statements, We have to do an assessment as to whether or not this is going to create too much of a cloud, in some peoples minds, as to whether or not they would be able to support us going forth, Cain said.

Good one and so true....
Don’t go there Windflier....ya know Bo is trying real hard to tape that warfare in people...don’t give it to him.
Yap, and this guy does not know the situation in Libya. How many jobs will that create, having encyclopedic knowledge of situation on the ground in Libya or Syria?
If people are not smart enough see how bad the economic situation is, then sadly they will keep electing more of the same failed politicians. People are rioting in Greece. There is no easy solution out of bankruptcy. We already had US Treasury debt downgraded a notch. There is no time left to fool around. And the big news is a bimbo eruption!
Geez dude I think you set a profanity record.
No Cain or any Train would want you as a member
Yea,....more than anything else the media wants a story they can milk out over time in order to attain ratings etc. They time for release of information with that in mind oftentimes...thus often waiting to hear what the reposne of the party they’re attacking states...media feeds off people like a dripping faucet...just to keep the story moving along.
Another thing Onyx....she claims she was ushered to various locations to meet with Cain....so hotels they stayed at are not going to be hard to determine...and likely she’s mentioned those if the story is true. So the media is just going to milk this out....letting information ease out and keeping the public engaged with it.
Distraction is an understatement....while Obama continues to move his hands behind the scenes.
what about those phone records of calls at 4am? I heard that on kabc talkradio...if she also is lying, he certainly was very unwise to be so close to another woman aside from his wife!
I guess I need to stop posting like several friends have done since honesty and good sense is being over ridden.
You don't understand. Those people in white hoods lynched my ancestors. Obama's? Not even.
I know but this is FR...just trying to say tread carefully on that. Obama’s already got creeps from the sidelines upping their anty....he’s the spark that rises the thugs up... he wants to do that. From the Communists groups..Acorn, unions and all the other hate groups....
ABC News (or was it one of the other alphebets?) could be lying about seeing the slut’s phone records... On the other hand, Cain could be lying about the affair. Too bad we can’t trust anyone to tell the truth anymore. :(
bump.
It might not matter though. Even if this is false it has become ubundantly clear that the MSM will never cover the issues. It will be nothing but scandals and gaffes on the GOP side getting attention from them and ignored on Obama’s part.
Even if this woman is lying, the MSM won’t care. If she held a national prime time press conference annoucing she was paid by the Dems to make the allegations with audio/video recordings and a copy of the check, they would then totally ignore the story.
This is shaping up to be the most partisan MSM campaign in history.
As much as I hate to say it, the MSM has probably succeeded in assassinating the Cain campaign. He has awful advisors and PR people to boot, he isn’t a Reagan who has the personality to pull through (at least we haven’t seen it).
Then again they can easily do the same to Perry, Newt (how many affairs?) and the others. They want Romney as the GOP nominee because he is very beatable, even if the economy completely crashes he’d likely find a way to lose. (sort of like McCain who seemed to be campaigning for Obama half the time)
I was on another message board where someone had a list of suggestions for VP for Newt and Mitt. The person was suggesting mostly moderates, it was insane. It would be like trying to lose on purpose. Even the perfect VP candidate couldn’t save Mitt from himself.
For me.
I REFUSE to compromise my principles for any of these guys. If the GOP doesn’t give me a ticket that doesn’t make me puke, I ain’t voting. They don’t DESERVE our votes “just because”. The GOP establishment has shown us every way until Sunday that they have nothing but disdain for conservatives, why should we continue to give our votes to them??
As Mark Steyn said today, Reagan didn’t move to the middle, he moved the middle to him. (remember what I said about force of personality)
If the GOP really thinks they can win without conservative votes, and nominating Mittens is that, then let them try.
For me, I am hoping no one gets the delegates and for a floor fight at the convention. I want to see some real, or better, conservatives throw their hats in the race. Whether its DeMint, George Allen, Palin or anyone else. Any of them is better than Newt and Mitt, both of whom are imminently beatable.
Newt and Cain have been friends for years. You’ll not find them slamming one another unless in jest and then it’s pretty mild. Basically both are good men and conservatives...but I am much much more comfortable with Newt when regarding what out country needs and the place it is at.
Just as with attorneys streatching out their cases to make the moolah...so too media will their story's...the facts will be revealed piecemeal in order to keep the scandal fed citizens engaged and otherwise occupied.
I resent slander and vicious lies.
Cain had successfully beaten back the lies of the other skanks.
I think he can beat back this one too.
I am heartened by the news that he is not quitting.
Me too Onyx, me too.
