Countdown" host Keith Olbermann and comedian Richard Lewis break down the Republican field of presidential candidates. Lewis dismisses the current frontrunners as "a silly Muppet show" and muses about alternate career paths for Herman Cain.

Lewis, known for his edgy humor, let loose a very controversial "joke."

Lewis says Herman Cain would be "lucky to be" a "doorman." He also classified the entire field as "like the new Christy's Minstrels."

The “new Christy’s Minstrals”? Wow, he’s talking to the Occupy movement with that one.

Pray for Herman.

From CoachisRight.com

Prayer for Herman Cain

America is in a battle for the very soul of this nation. Dark forces have come against the foundations on which America was built. It is a war against good and evil; a battle not against flesh and blood, but invisible rulers of darkness.

Isaiah describes a sinful nation in Isaiah 59:3-8 (NLT):

Your hands are the hands of murderers, your fingers are filthy with sin. Your mouth is full of lies, and your lips are tainted with corruption..

No one cares about being fair and honest. Lawsuits are based on lies. They spend their time plotting evil deeds and doing them. They spend their time and energy spinning evil plains that end up in deadly actions. They cheat and shortchange everyone. Nothing they do is productive; all their activity is filled with sin. Violence is their trademark. Their feet run to do evil, and they rush to commit murder. They think only about sinning. Wherever they go, misery and destruction follow them.

Is it no wonder then that forces of darkness have risen up within people to malign the character of a man who humbly sought the Lord’s direction before declaring his candidacy for President of the United States?

Herman Cain exhibits exemplary character and lifetime achievement. He has risen to the top of his every endeavor. His resume speaks for itself: Navy rocket scientist; computer Coca Cola systems analyst; Pillsbury VP of Corporate Data Systems & Services; business manager over 400 Burger Kings; CEO, owner of Godfather’s Pizza; chairman, National Restaurant Association; Federal Reserve advisor; chairman, Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank; writer, public speaker, radio host, associate minister, faithful husband, and father.

Because opponents cannot come against Herman Cain’s record, many have maligned his character with vague accusations, innuendos, and in Cain’s own words “Outright lies!” The media markedly refers to his ‘alleged accusations of sexual harassment,’ an example of powers operating to discredit a righteous character and manipulate an election.

America is at a crossroads between greatness and destruction. This nation still receives the blessings of Godly men and women from past generations. However, each generation will choose its own fate. Liberty can be lost in one generation. The day is approaching when Americans can no longer claim In God We Trust unless Christians humble ourselves, seek God’s face, and change our wicked ways.

That said; let us lift Herman Cain in prayer, a man who sought God’s counsel to run for United States President.

Father God, We ask for justice against those who have maligned Herman Cain’s name. We ask that people will judge him on his true character and lifetime achievements.

Guard him as the apple of Your eye, hide him in the shadow of Your wings, protect him from the enemies who surround him and are against him.

Rise up a righteous man to lead America, one who will seek Your face; an approved workman who does not need to be ashamed, who correctly explains the truth. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

We know Cain is less than an honest man because he can't keep his stories straight on his positions on abortion, TARP and gun rights. Then he tries to tell us there is a difference between profiling and "targeted identification". This man is slippery and slimey and that has nothing to do with possible affairs and sexual harassment charges. There seems to be a pattern here.

Last night I heard a radio talk show host say he had interviewed all the candidates and Cain is not qualified to be a state legislator, yet alone president.

He can't articulate a consistent policy on anything. It is extremely risky to nominate someone without any kind of a record.

Well, let’s just pretend Cain was not a very successful business man. Actually Lewis got it wrong. If he wasn’t a lousy comedian he could not get a doorman’s job. Doormen must be tactful and not offend people. Obviously, Lewis has no clue about those attributes.

Also, says a lot about his life experience. By dissing doormen he’s dissing a lot of black men. Also, a good doorman does a lot more than call taxis and open vehicle doors.

Obama is akin to Chauncy Gardner, the idiot character in the film, Being There.

The fact is we know more about Cain than we ever knew about Obama. So please don’t tell me the media is digging around in Cain’s private life because the public has a right to know. They sat on Obama’s past in order to help him get elected. They aren’t coming out with this information on Cain to help the public reach an informed decision about the candidate.

Richard Lewis used to be funny. He should stick to jokes. It seems like comedians lose their edge and 98%+ of their ability to be humorous once they become interested in politics.

Lenny Bruce started out funny.
Believe it or not, 20 or 30 years ago Bill Maher and Al Franken were funny. But they decided to join Olbermann and become clowns instead of comedians....

Totally agree. My beef with Cain is totally aside from these bimbo eruptions because I do not know if they are true or not. I do know Cain is inconsistent on his positions on issues because I have seen them myself.

Looking to revive his career a la Bill Maher, Whoopi Goldberg etc. etc. Basically to be the court jester for the Party. Nice.
