ATLANTA, Ga. - An Atlanta businesswoman is breaking her silence, claiming she has been involved in a 13-year-long affair with Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain.
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, FOX 5 senior I-Team reporter Dale Russell sat down with Ginger White, who had an amazing story to tell.

I am not a lawyer, but I have read of cases where the court ruled that even if the damaging statement is true, if made with malice the maligned person is entitled to damages.
Nope. Truth is an absolute defense.
Actually, in the case of a public figure, such as a presidential candidate, not only do you have to prove the defamatory allegations false, you also have to show that the utterer made them knowing they were false and with reckless disregard for the truth.
In the current case, such a lengthy affair must have left copious tracks, e.g., traveling to the same cities, staying at the same hotels, being seen together, etc. So, Cain had better own up if it's true.
Cain never harassed her or treated her poorly, though their physical relationship ended eight months ago, just before Cain announced his candidacy for president, White said. She provided some text messages and phone bills as documentation of her contact with Cain.The station also released a statement from Cain's attorney, Lin Wood, who said the allegations of "private, alleged consensual conduct between adults" is not "not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public."
If she has released texts and phone bills as the above quote from the article suggests, and if the campaign's defense is "consensual relationship", then one has to wonder if this is an attempt at innoculation or a defense?
I'm going to suggest that Cain is done in Iowa and New Hampshire as America sorts out how to deal with new, private information that's being revealed. The voting public won't have this sorted out by then.
They've had decades to sort out the Gingrich affairs.
Cain's stuff, however, is raw and new, and who knows what else will pop up.

Someone made the point that L. Lin Wood’s response is worded the way it is because it is a WARNING to the media to back off (as in - there is grounds for a lawsuit). It is not an admission of guilt as some are saying. Please repost.
I can only conclude one thing from that...

but if a Republican sends flirty texts to an aide... its a huge scandal.

Who knows how this came out. Perhaps someone who knew about it rather than her? I would think that if it went on that long there was someone other than her who knew. Hotel desk clerks, one of her old friends with a grudge? Who knows?

She would be good, but I will tell you, seeing the SAVAGING that Herman Cain is betting from the conspiratorial Government-Media complex via these whisper campaigns, no WAY is she going to toss her hat into the ring.

Without any of those three, it's gutter politics, damaging to the political process and to innocent parties in both families.
