Republicans (Mods and Conservatives) don’t want Obama defeated badly enough. (Vanity)

I’m thinking that Republicans really don’t want Obama defeated badly enough. We are very close to pulling defeat from the jaws of victory. Even we Conservatives seem hell-bent on destroying, or helping the media destroy, everyone of our candidates one at a time by backbiting and devouring each other over “one-issue” disagreements. Some Johnny-one-notes have “Abortion” as their issue. For many, it’s “non-Electability” or a candidate is “not a good Debater” or confuses “Elvis’ birthday” with the anniversary of his death. And for a true Conservative, Rick Santorum, he will be undone because, bless his heart, he has the “Charisma” of a foot stool. But, he just might surprise all of us coming out of Iowa.

The big one now, however, is “Immigration” for which Newt is paying a high price for having the courage to be the only candidate, from any Party, to come up with a logical, workable solution to a very complex problem that has been ignored by the last five Presidents. Now we have a monster on our hands. People criticize him but, my question is what is your solution? Deport them all? Are you willing to help car pool 11 million of them back to Mexico?

Enough already!! After the convention, we will proudly send our nominee into the General Election bloodied, beaten and wounded against a united, well funded, Democratic Socialist Party and we will get our butts handed to us on a platter and we will have four more years of President Obozo. Many Conservatives have threatened to stay home on Election Day if their guy or gal is not the nominee. But, by golly, we would have “made a statement”. Well, the only problem is, you always find people who “made a statement” in the “Lost Column”.

Your point is well taken. I don’t think Romney will get the nod; and Huntsman definitely will not be the nominee. I think it’s going to be Newt or Herman. I console myself with this fact: If Obozo gets reelected, this Economy will go to hell in a hand basket, we’ll deserve what we get, he will get the blame and he will leave office as hated as Herbert Hoover.

"I have often said we need to join in prayer to bring protection to the unborn. Prayer and action are needed to uphold the sanctity of human life. I believe it will not be possible to accomplish our work, the work of saving lives, 'without being a soul of prayer.' The famous British Member of Parliament, William Wilberforce, prayed with his small group of influential friends, the 'Clapham Sect,' for decades to see an end to slavery in the British empire. Wilberforce led that struggle in Parliament, unflaggingly, because he believed in the sanctity of human life. He saw the fulfillment of his impossible dream when Parliament outlawed slavery just before his death."

"Let his faith and perseverance be our guide. We will never recognize the true value of our own lives until we affirm the value in the life of others, a value of which Malcolm Muggeridge says:. . . however low it flickers or fiercely burns, it is still a Divine flame which no man dare presume to put out, be his motives ever so humane and enlightened."

"Abraham Lincoln recognized that we could not survive as a free land when some men could decide that others were not fit to be free and should therefore be slaves. Likewise, we cannot survive as a free nation when some men decide that others are not fit to live and should be abandoned to abortion or infanticide. My Administration is dedicated to the preservation of America as a free land, and there is no cause more important for preserving that freedom than affirming the transcendent right to life of all human beings, the right without which no other rights have any meaning."

-- President Ronald Reagan - Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation

By “Mods” I was referring to the Establishment, Country-Club Republicans like Karl Rove, Dana Perino, Rudy Giuliani, Charles Krauthamer, etc., etc., etc.

Well said. EXACTLY. I just need their signatures for the petition. It also proves that both parties are out of step with the voters on this.

I’m very Pro-Live EV. I have fought for the unborn and for Pro-Life Politicians since 1979. My two guys, Cain and Gingrich are both Pro-Life. We’re on the same team bud. All the current GOP contenders, I think, say they are Pro-Life. Not sure about Huntsman.

Elect Herman Cain and a 2/3 Republican majority in both houses of Congress.

That’s how we take this country back.

have read articles since the debate that said that he was proposing, “local boards” that would determine which illegals could stay.

Newt never said that.

"I wish you well. I did the same thing at age 50"

Thanks for the encouragement. It will be an adventure, I'm sure. There are a lot of good kids out there.

I live in California. I'm voting for the Green Party candidate.

If they get over 5% of the popular vote then they will be a thorn in the side of the Democrats for election cycles to come.

I wish there were enough imaginative and strategic thinking Republicans in solidly blue states willing to vote Green Party.

But I fear I will be one of just a handful.

I’m thinking that Republicans really don’t want Obama defeated badly enough.

Removing Obama is not my goal. As a citizen, my goal is to preserve the Freedoms I have been given by the protections of our Constitutional Republic. Defeating Obama, with nothing more, would only leave a vacuum that would not be progress towards my goal. Replacing Obama with someone who is dedicated to preserving my Freedom would be progress towards my goal.

I will not use my vote for the sole purpose of defeating Obama. My vote will be used to elect someone who I believe will get me closer to my goal. If it is doubtful whether someone who will get me closer to my goal will be elected, I will still vote for them, even if I have to write in their name. My vote is powerful and I will not sell it to anyone based solely on "electability". If my candidate fails to get elected, it means that not enough voters share my goals. I would be quite shocked if they did, as less than 4 years ago the majority voted for Obama.

This is a war that will not be won by a single battle. There are multiple enemies both Democrat and Republican. It is not progress to defeat one enemy only to have them replaced by a different enemy. The presidential election is important, but will be meaningless to me if Obama is defeated but no progress towards my goal is made.

Gingrich is a complete phony. If he had any intention of stopping the abortion holocaust he would have done it when he had the power to do it. Instead he chose to be the interface between the Republican pro-abortion money and the poor pro-lifers who were naive enough to believe him.

After watching him waste the substance and power of the conservative movement the way he and his colleagues did for years, they now have no excuse for their ignorance. It’s gotta be willful at this late date.

A stealth socialist, like Romney, will wind up doing even more damage than Obama, at least whose socialism is out in the open for all to see.

RE: "Yes, we don't want it so bad we put a Republican disaster in the WH."
I'm sure most here would agree full heartily with that statement. But you have to admit. The whole process can make people a bit edgy at times. I re frame from saying a lot more then I do because I believe no matter what I say will not be taken into the proper spirit of reasoning. The issues are so complex in the reality of things. So much is so inter leaved. A candidate might have few few things that stink yet might help bring back sanity to this government, downsize it within a more affordable fashion as well as gaining favor with the Congress at least on some issues.
It sure is a tough call this time around. We may have to live with a Demorat majority Senate for a long time to come. Just that alone must be taken into consideration.

Tzar is the TROLL here and knows it. The comment was made by it to fluster you and get a reaction. Sort of like my 4 year old grand niece... she loves to say and do ridiculous things just to get attention.

“Black female Democrats are my favorites...they are sick of the invasion.

They are Pro-God and Pro-Life also but 95 percent of them still vote for Obozo.”

Neither Black women nor Hispanic women are particularly pro-life.

Black women have abortions at a rate 5 times “white” women and Hispanic women have abortions at a rate 3 times “white” women.

Lots of folks here said the same thing about John McCain

And Dubya in 2000.

Conservatives are not doing their duty to the country when they vote for RINOs. It is time to say no to big government Republicans.
