Republicans (Mods and Conservatives) don’t want Obama defeated badly enough. (Vanity)

I’m thinking that Republicans really don’t want Obama defeated badly enough. We are very close to pulling defeat from the jaws of victory. Even we Conservatives seem hell-bent on destroying, or helping the media destroy, everyone of our candidates one at a time by backbiting and devouring each other over “one-issue” disagreements. Some Johnny-one-notes have “Abortion” as their issue. For many, it’s “non-Electability” or a candidate is “not a good Debater” or confuses “Elvis’ birthday” with the anniversary of his death. And for a true Conservative, Rick Santorum, he will be undone because, bless his heart, he has the “Charisma” of a foot stool. But, he just might surprise all of us coming out of Iowa.

The big one now, however, is “Immigration” for which Newt is paying a high price for having the courage to be the only candidate, from any Party, to come up with a logical, workable solution to a very complex problem that has been ignored by the last five Presidents. Now we have a monster on our hands. People criticize him but, my question is what is your solution? Deport them all? Are you willing to help car pool 11 million of them back to Mexico?

Enough already!! After the convention, we will proudly send our nominee into the General Election bloodied, beaten and wounded against a united, well funded, Democratic Socialist Party and we will get our butts handed to us on a platter and we will have four more years of President Obozo. Many Conservatives have threatened to stay home on Election Day if their guy or gal is not the nominee. But, by golly, we would have “made a statement”. Well, the only problem is, you always find people who “made a statement” in the “Lost Column”.

I support Newt...... and nothing these folks say is going to change my mind, that is up to Newt.

I do not suport Cain. I did to start with, but he lost me and as far as I am concerned, he is done.

About 4 days ago, a long standing Freeper alleged that I was a racist because I supported an “educated” Newt over an “educated Black man”.

That ridiculous and uncalled for insult pi$$ed me off about as much as I have ever been on FR. I wrongfully responded with two cryptic cuss words and was promptly warned by a mod, for the first time in all of the years I’ve been here, that I could suffer “suspension or worse”.

During the past few weeks I have been told that I am not a conservative, called a troll several times by newbies, called a lib troll and told to leave FR, called a supporter of illegal aliens and been the recipient of several other over the top insults.

I have witnessed literally hundreds of rapid-fire insults and attacks directed at very longstanding and respectable Freepers, all because they either didn’t support Cain or in even the slightest way.... questioned his actions/history/performance.

Before any of the above had occurred, I stayed out of it and just watched it unfold for a few weeks, during which time, I watched over the top personal insults after insults, lie after lie and more insults. It reached a point where I simply was not going to remain quiet.

I don’t know how to fix the problem, heck, I am now part of it... I refuse to be silenced or intimidated. Heck, I am not even sure that the problems on FR can be fixed.

This is a stressful time for all of us. Our given candidate will rise and then take a dive.... it’s just crazy and this roller-coaster can bring out emotions.

At the same time, I think we are being attacked by the enemy on our own turf.

FR experienced something nearly as bad in 2006.... we got Pelosi and Reid.

To tell you the truth, I would leave FR, but I don’t like quitting anything, I’ve donated money to keep this place going and there just isn’t any place better.... even when FR is broken.

Bottom-line, it is what it is, and there isn’t much we can do about it.

“Newt never said that.”

Go to the immigration - solutions section at Newt.org. You will read the following:

“Congress must charge the Department of Justice to establish a “citizens’ review” process for those here outside the law. It would establish committees to process these cases in individual communities and determine who will continue on this path to legality, and who will be sent home.”

[ After watching him waste the substance and power of the conservative movement the way he and his colleagues did for years, they now have no excuse for their ignorance. It’s gotta be willful at this late date. ]

Thats what I've been saying.. Newt is saying all the right things... Brilliant really.. The question is will he actually do what he says..

Is he just "blowin" in our ears.. scratching our itch... does he have his hand in our pocket feeling around.. I don't like being played for a fool.. and he has that creepy smile..

I live in California. I’m voting for the Green Party candidate.
If they get over 5% of the popular vote then they will be a thorn in the side of the Democrats for election cycles to come.

Good idea, but, when you think about it, 5 votes out of a hundred, that might not seem like much at first glance, but that’s a nice little chunk.

Given the choice between believing his election year rhetoric and more than thirty years of his political actions, it’s a no-brainer.

If the percentages are close to 2010, which I suspect they will be, hes toast. States like Michigan and Wisconsin are definitely in play.

And I'll tell you what , posting hand wringing vanities are kind of annoying, I bet you didnt know that ..

Removing Obama is not my goal. As a citizen, my goal is to preserve the Freedoms I have been given by the protections of our Constitutional Republic.
I understand. I think that doing everything you can to get a Marxist Muslim out of the White House would be a good start to protecting our Freedoms and our Constitutional Republic before he totally destroys both. Four more years and he will pretty well have destroyed this great nation.

Don’t let anything or anyone get you down!

Try to enjoy the Christmas Month of December.

Politics will always sort itself out.

Primary Season is always brutal.

Supporters have thin skins and always find crater sized faults with rival candidates and rarely find any with their own “near perfect” candidates.

I’m on two ping lists, but I’m open to all of our candiates, except Romney, Ron Paul and Eddie Haskell Hunstman.

Have we had a modern-day Conservative in the White House besides Ronald Reagan? Not really.

Thank you.

One of the few vanities I have bothered to read in many a year, but you did good and I am behind you 100%.

PS....I laughed at the “troll” charge.

Herman Cain was a Vice president at a Federal Reserve Bank.. Thats so deep in the Plantation House.. "Uncle Tom" has never seen those rooms... Cain is very connected... "Uncle Tom" must call him "MAssa"... Cain is not the "Oh! Gosh, shucks" good ol boy he appears to be..

Cain appears to be Plan "C" of the Progressives.. Plan "A" is Romney and Plan "B" is Newton...

But then..... I was worried about the "Son of read my lips no new taxes" from day one.. I was saddened to see him to become a tool of the democrat party.. But his father and brother were too... Actually I was embarrassed.. to have been a part of it..

“Hand wringing”? Read my Post #44. As far as “Vanity” posts being annoying.... No, I didn’t know that for these reasons:

1. Apparently 115 people like being annoyed. That’s the number of comments posted in 2 1/2 hours to this Thread. And

2. Guess what; you were an integral part of the discussion on this Thread. It must not have annoyed you too much.

Nobody forced you to read it or participate in this thread. You knew it was a Vanity. If it is so annoying, why did you read it and participate? And, I’d really appreciate an answer to that. Could it be that, like the rest of us, you are a political junkie and you can’t help yourself; like a crack head can’t resist the pipe? Whassup Nonstatist? Fill me in on what I’m missing here. If it’s so annoying why are you friggin’ here? Maybe it’s only the Truth that annoys you.

Yes. Eisenhower did it in 1954.

How Eisenhower solved illegal border crossings from Mexico

By “Mods” I was referring to the Establishment, Country-Club Republicans like Karl Rove, Dana Perino, Rudy Giuliani, Charles Krauthamer, etc., etc., etc.

Ah! Good show!

This ain’t 1954 and Ike ain’t in the White House. The 50’s was the greatest decade in America. Times are more complex now and the population has doubled.
