Gabby Giffords’s Husband Mark Kelly Tells Piers Morgan That Sarah Palin Never Contacted Him
Mediaite ^ | November 25th, 2011 | James Crugnale

Posted on 11/26/2011 12:55:06 PM PST by presidio9

CNN host Piers Morgan spoke with Gabrielle Giffords‘s husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, on Wednesday and discussed Sarah Palin‘s controversial crosshair map, which targeted the Congresswoman’s district. Kelly wrote in a new book that the former Alaska governor never reached out to them. “We were never contacted by her,” Kelly said.

“I find that extraordinary,” Morgan exclaimed.

“Yeah, I was surprised too,” Kelly replied. “You know, certainly the targets that she put over Gabby’s and other people’s districts, in our opinion, was not the right thing to do. She is not the first person to do that. And it hasn’t always been Republicans that have done that.”

“Some interesting insights in the book into who, you know, walked to the plate and who didn’t, really, in terms of political colleagues and people that she had worked for and against. Sarah Palin doesn’t come out of this very well, I don’t think, because there was a woman who at the time had been putting these cross hair things on her website and stuff, including Gabby,” Morgan observed. “And in her haste to take responsibility didn’t even bother to pick the phone up, to write, do anything.”

“I liked your line about it, which is if you had had the chance to talk to her, and you were expecting to, you weren’t going to say that you were responsible,” Morgan pointed out. “But you were going to say, you’ve been irresponsible.”

“Yeah, that’s my plan. You know, this was no surprise to us. Gabby even spoke about it before January 8th, during the election cycle, leading up to the election, in an interview. I think it might have been on MSNBC or some other — another cable news network. She made is very clear that, hey, this is what’s going on, and this could ultimately incite people to do violent things. So it wasn’t a big surprise on January 8th that — you know, that we — you know, where we knew this map existed with the cross-hairs on it. Now, having said that, you know, Sarah Palin certainly is not responsible for what happened. But I think the angry rhetoric in an election year is not — it’s not helpful.”

Sarah Palin really needed to call him so he could give her crap. He can go to hell. I’m sick of democrat nonsense. Maybe he should care for his wife rather than play on Palin’s popularity.

I’m not sure which one,Morgan or Kelley is the stupidest. Neither of them want to blame the poor sot that pulled the trigger. They only want to bash Sara. Maybe they think that bringing this up now it will keep her from jumping into the race.

Why should your political opponent’s rhetoric be “helpful”?

Every spaceship needs a dipstick, and it has to be an astronaut; hence some astronauts will be trained dipsticks even after they quit being ballistic objects.

I bet he didn’t even mention that I’ve never contacted him either...

I called and would have left a message but their answering machine was full. He probably thinks I didn’t contact him either.

“Odd. Giffords was shot in the head, but her husband got brain damage.”

I totally agree.

Hey, Kelly, I think you are the one who should have called Palin — to apologize for all the leftist lying that tried to link her to your wife’s shooting.

Gifford’s didn’t contact the media either to tell them that Sarah Palin has nothing to do with the shooting of his wife.

If Palin had contacted the Gifford’s the media would have had a field day claiming “inside sources” tell them Palin apologized for any responsibility she may have had for the shooting.

Nothing ever please liberals. It’s no wonder they are such ugly, mean spirited, violent and vile creatures.

Why should Sarah Palin contact Giffords? What abut all the other people killed and wounded that day? Because she’s in Congress she’s supposed to get special sympathy and treatment? To hell with her! And she should no longer be in Congress!

This is natural. When faced with a senseless tragedy our brains try and try to makes sense out of it. And it will eventually construct some kid of sense. For a hyper political couple like this, it is not surprising he finds a political meaning in it. Even if it hurts a completely innocent person.

There is no polite word for the scum who egg him on though.

I gave birth this summer and Sarah Palin didn’t call me. And I actually campaigned for her, that’s a way closer connection that this Mark Kelly dude (well they both have five letters in their last name).

If Sarah had called they would have accused her of being less-than-genuine. Or worse...opportunistic by inserting herself into the story.
Or - anything she said would have been twisted and construed as to meaning something else entirely.

No matter what she does - she’s screwed. Those are the rules with her.

Your right on with that....why would she contact them. She’s not a personal friend. Even with Palin out of the running democrats still cannot help but give a elbow to her...

That’s because he is a superbly trained dipstick, irreplaceable as a ballistic object, and irreversibly a dipstick while earthbound as an astronaut with nothing obvious to do. The current administration has so many dipsticks already filling various preferential categories that even with political influence exerted by his wife he’s going nowhere. If there were a space mission to the sun, he would probably have a shot, and subsequently an almost certain lock on a Darwin Award, “unfit” division. Then, as he evaporates, he would be remembering that he should have had an agent, a ghost-writer,a scarecrow, a tin man and probably more witches and wizards than he thought he needed.

Sarah Palin has no obligation to make amends for an action that she had nothing to do with. Kelly owes Sarah Palin an apology, and Sarah Palin owes Giffords and Kelly nothing.

A joke....Why is Gabby Gifford qualified to be a Representative to the Congress? Answer, brain damage.

On a serious note, she should have resigned long ago. She is taking money for doing nothing. She is also incapable of executing her duties. She most likely cannot drive, or sign contracts.
