Good Bye and Good riddance... the only good ones left: Cain, Bachmann and Santorum.

What EXACTLY is their plan to deal with the 12 million or so illegal aliens, most of whom have children who are American Citizens?

At least Gingrich has a plan.

It may never be passed by congress, but at least he has gone out on a limb and made a proposal for dealing with the problem. That's more than I can say about Cain, Bachmann or Santorum.

Some of us DON’T WANT a plan, particularly if it ends up being Amnesty, minus the right to vote (at least until the courts weigh in).

In other words a TERRIBLE PLAN is worse than no plan. What is so hard to figure out about that?

The best plan I’ve ever heard about anything is, “We win, they lose,” Ronald Reagan’s famous plan vs the soviet communists. It’s genius was its sheer simplicity, its boldness, honesty and directness.

Likewise, a simple, bold, honest and direct plan would work against the illegal alien invasion. It’s not rocket science. Secure the borders. Crack down on illegals and their employers. No bennies to illegals. No jobs, no welfare, no food stamps, no SSI, no education, no hospital stays, no welfare, no bank accounts, no contracts, no drivers licenses, no social security, no medicare. Prison terms for criminals. They’ll leave as fast as they can.

Simply announce it as the ENFORCED law of the land and they will stop coming. Those already here will begin leaving.

We win, they lose.

It probably is much safer to say nothing. I'm sure they'll permit Cain, Bachmann and any others to make it through the general election against Obama without spelling out their plan.

But, if they get that far, then they can out with some kind of visa program and all the stupid little conservatives will say, "oh it's our candidate now; we better ignore it now or we'll lose."

So, maybe they're smart to keep us in the dark.

I'm sick of the stupidity on these boards about illegals.

Illegal immigration is not high on the list of my concerns. These people want us to think it's the issue of the millennium.

God, Life, Guns, Spending, Economy, War, Military, Terrorism, China, Marriage and Family, Illegals,....

It's a 3rd tier concern, and we're to believe any candidate who is right on 10 more important concerns that define conservatism is to be rejected out of hand.

I think those who push that garbage truly are rejecting the good in hopes of the perfect.

What utter horse hockey.

The conservative approach to illegal immigration is to simply ENFORCE the laws already on the books. Cut off all government welfare benefits, and deny them jobs through the use of E-Verify, and there'd be a mass exodus to the southern border.

In case you missed it, that was exactly what Herman Cain proposed in the last debate.

Newt's plan doesn't pass the smell test, and is just another hare-brained scheme to skirt our laws, and appease liberals and the illegal lobby.

I don't see how any conservative could agree with Newt's proposal.

Well, there is such a thing as tough love. It’s hardly the fault of the American people that others chose to come here illegally. Will sending them back to come in the front door cause problems for the families? Yes, but that doesn’t mean they get to get away with breaking our laws. If a parent commits a crime it does affect the family. We don’t say, “Well, okay, he robbed that house over there but he has 3 children and a couple of grandchildren so let’s just slap his wrist and send him home.” We’re not talking parking tickets here, this affects every person in the country in one way or another. It’s up to the adults to NOT do illegal things and risk putting their families in jeopardy. Either we’re a nation of laws or we’re not. If people think there’s a flaw in the law then they should work to change it but it shouldn’t be ignored, stretched, bent or otherwise altered on a whim or because enforcement is “too hard.”

Our borders and immigration laws weren’t respected so we are just supposed to say oh,well,it’s a done deal now,we can’t deport them?

No. Not right.
