When Governor Rick Perry tossed his hat into the Presidential ring, he said he was joining the race at his wife, Anita Perry’s urging. Perry believed it was his duty to run and was answering the question President Kennedy had asked Americans 50 years prior in his inaugural address: “ask what you can do for your country.”

Was Perry ready to run for President? No. His stumbles on the campaign reflect that reality. Is he ready to be President? Yes. His impressive record of conservative governance and Texas’ dominating economic growth attest to his strong leadership. There is an important distinction between these two questions. When President Reagan ran for President in 1980, he took on the Republican establishment and the country-club wing of the party. And he won. Yet Reagan benefited from already having run for President in 1976.

This is a powerful video and I don’t see how anyone that loves America could vote for anyone other then Rick Perry. He is the only candidate that will be the best and make a great President.

Most everyone who knows strategy says it was on purpose. It's compared to how GHWB did with the Sept 7th supposed mistake saying it was Pearl Harbor day. It was done to take the heat off Quayle.

Now I think Perry is too honest also. However, if you look at what came of it then you have to regress and say...well, it may be true. He was on tv shows all day long, changing the image of mean ole' Perry to very human Perry. People looked at his outstanding crisis management abilities. He really got the sympathy of his fellow debaters and made several good friends out of it. IF that is an outcome of a brain freeze then great however that is not what people who study this say.

Rick may be a great guy, but let’s face the facts: he isn’t very bright.

Perry's bright enough that he started at the bottom and worked his way to the top.

Somebody we know went from "rocket scientist" to flippin' hamburgers!

Many believe the brain freeze was on purpose to get lots of face time on tv and show the public who Rick Perry is. It worked and he got what he wanted...tv face time.

Perry's the sultan of strategy... Just fabulous!

Yes, that’s a good tactic. Remember the lurkers. (or it that the Titans).

I don’t know what the statistics are but I’m sure a lot more people look at threads than bother to post on them.

If anyone lurks on the Perry threads, they will only be turned off by the disruptors here.

We should continue to post positive Perry information and there is plenty there.

I cannot explain that at all. But as for fund raising, Perry is okay there.

We’ve had one fad candidate after another rise to the top and then fall because they didn’t measure up.

A lot of us were for Palin and sure she would run. She didn’t.

A lot of her supporters flocked to Cain, only to fade away after it became pretty clear that he has neither the knowledge or the experience.

Then it was Newt. I like Newt but he is will-o-the-wisp. Has a thousand ideas and goes from one to the other. He’s still my second favorite, but a lot of people absolutely hate any mention of citizenship for illegals. It really turned a lot of his supporters off. Not exactly fair, but it happened.

If Perry can make a good showing in a couple of the early primaries...

Well, we’ll see. He’s the best person in the field.

We will see. Perry will surprise and excite over the next few weeks.

He loves his fellow Americans, and (as of now oppressed) American potential, and that will shortly become apparent.

Even if it was just an accident....the way it was handled was brilliant. It definitely ‘humanized’ him, and people saw his good natured humor about himself.

More voters got to know him as a result and that was a good thing.
