Over the past several months, the NAACP has launched a campaign against the Confederate Battle Flag by protesting its presence at the South Carolina statehouse. Governor Nikki Haley did not respond to the demands of the NAACP to remove it. In a similar matter, black protesters have called for the removal of the Battle Flag from a Georgian cemetery that happens to have interred the bones of Confederate soldiers. And now, most recently, Republican presidential candidate Governor Rick Perry of Texas has become the newest target of the NAACP over whether the Battle Flag should appear on license plates. In the end, Perry decided against the idea.

Still beating your wife? I don’t drink anymore pal, haven’t in 21 years.
Well if it ain’t my favorite Confederate crocus on the compost heap. You got a problem with The Stars and Stripes, don’t you? You remind me of the “Occupy’’ crowd. Raised in the freest, greatest nation on earth and it’s not good enough for you is it? When you look, if ever you have, at that photo of US Marines raising the The Stars and Stripes on Mt. Surabachi, how does that make you feel? We’re you cheering on 9/11 for the scum who attacked America and it’s flag?
The patriots who fought the Crown didn’t consider themselves “British’’. We didn’t all come from England either. God, you’re dumb.
I am glad in a way that the US MArines who raised the flag on MT. Surabachi didn't have to see what has become of their USA. Actually only three of them survived Iwo.
I'm three sheets to the wind now dude! Yes, I would miss it so I don't think I'll give it up anytime soon. And yes I'm having a marvelous Thanksgiving.
Well, enjoy yourself and I hope you’re not driving. Don’t seem to have a problem with the keypad.
Ditto.
LOL, jmacusa you don't seem to be a bad guy afterall!
Since Virginia was attacked on 9-11, I'll bet you were glad an old Confederate state got their come-upins
I try not to be ‘’Angel’’, I try. Not so bad yourself.
Ah, no ‘’va’’, I wasn’t happy at all. I don’t have a problem with Americans from any point on the compass. Just unrepentant racist Johnny Reb wanna-be’s like you. You didn’t answer any of the question I asked. You really do have a problem with The Stars and Stripes, don’t you?
I have a problem with the USA as it is today, FedGov is out of control. As for our flag it's pretty as flags go, I like it. In so much as it represents the people of the USA I have no problem with it. Unfortunately you are my countrymen and I deserve better than you.
So does that answer your question? Calling people racists is a little juvenile but I don't expect anything better from boot licks.
You deserve better than me? Ha, right back at you. Grow va, and get a life.
Calling people racist is a dangerous hobby, I think you'd do better taking up knitting and leave politics to the adults. Did you sit at the kiddy table today?.
Adult? You call yourself an adult? That’s a laugh. You wave that stupid Stars and Bars in my face, a symbol carried by an army 150 years ago fighting to preserve slavery. You’re an idiot.
The Civil War never really ended. The DUmocrats just use the courts to conduct their battles when ballot stuffing fails to provide a win.
“In the discussions about tha Battle Flag, Ive always found it interesting that few, if any, comment that, except for the civil war years, those Confederate states were under Old Glory! So, wheres the call to ban the Red, White and Blue?”
Good point, particularly as Slavery was far more engrained as an institution under the Federal flag of the united States then under the 4 short years of the confederacy in which it was all but given up. Nor did slavery end with the confederacy but rather instead slavery did not end in the northern State of Kentucky until the 13th amendment AFTER the war.
“Adult? You call yourself an adult? Thats a laugh. You wave that stupid Stars and Bars in my face, a symbol carried by an army 150 years ago fighting to preserve slavery. Youre an idiot.”
The army was fighting to preserve their Independence, not specifically slavery. Slavery was not threaten by the North which still had slavery.
If it’s not too personal - what division, brigade, regiment and company did your ancestor serve in? The Irish Brigade were fearfully awesome fighters.
You have a right to be proud.
Allow me to apologize for posting the Confederate battle flag on a thread about the Confederate battle flag, how childish of me. /sarc
