Almost immediately upon Sarah Palin's announcement that she would not seek the Republican nomination for president, the phone calls from almost all of the GOP candidates began pouring in. They wanted her endorsement.
While Palin has characteristically kept her cards close to her chest, advisers suggest that the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee is likely to endorse before someone emerges as the inevitable nominee -- and that Newt Gingrich appears to be best-positioned to secure her support

After Newts Immigration comment in the last debate, I don’t see her getting behind him.
ruh-roh.....
We need SOMEBODY who can beat Obama who ISN’T Romney or Huntsman.
I would prefer Cain or Bachmann. If it isn’t them, I can live with Gingrich. He has faults but he has strengths.
As for Palin, NOTHING can tarnish her image. I LOVE her. She’s smart, conservative and HOT!
Palin will not endorse a self proclaimed pro amnesty Washington insider who believes that we must take urgent action to stop global warming. Anybody who believes that doesn’t know her.
Why wouldn’t a staunch Conservative take Palin’s endorsement of Newt as a sign that they have crossed the line from patriotic advocacy to a zealous fantasy pursuit of Nirvana-like perfectionism? After all, we can see it when at happens in the other side perfectly clear. Are we so blind as to not realize we can subsume to the same malady?
No.
Besides we already know how Palin feels about DC insiders so her endorsement of Newt is about as likely as an endorsement of Obama.
I hope we have learned a lesson from all the "he said"/"she said"/ anonymous sources speculation from last time. There are people who misuse Sarah's name to try and get some traction and credibility. We would be better off ignoring this kind of rumour and buzz campaigns, and get it straight from the "horse's mouth", if it happens at all.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo. I’d lose my respect for her if she endorsed Newt during the primaries.
I think you are right. I believe she will campaign hard against Obama rather than for anybody else.
One RINO endorsing another. Palin’s endorsement would have no affect on my decision not to support Gingrich.
Haha, sarcasm is an effective tool. I don’t pretend to tell people whom they should support. I just think a ton of self-examination is in order for some of the pit bulls around here. There is nothing so odious as a loudmouth who is convinced he is right about absolutely everything.
Is that the same "we" who were so very certain that she was going to run for the nomination? Now "we" know how she "feels"?
PS see post #6.
I am sure that would just break her heart.
Well, I like Gingrich, but that said, I’ll bet that Palin is not going to endorse anybody. I could be...and usually am...wrong, but I don’t see her getting into that, particularly after the flack she got for endorsing McCain in AZ.
I think she’s regrouping and will probably run for state or federal legislative office herself, and she probably wants to be sort of “non-partisan” at the moment. However, that’s just my theory. She has certainly not given any indications in the matter.
