Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:

◦Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets "the equilibrium of the national demographics," when foreigners are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when "they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy."
◦The Secretary of Governance may "suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest."
Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country:
◦Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants.
◦A National Population Registry keeps track of "every single individual who comprises the population of the country," and verifies each individual's identity.
◦A national Catalog of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants and assigns each individual with a unique tracking number
Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned:
◦Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned.
◦Foreigners who sign government documents "with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses" are subject to fine and imprisonment.
Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons:
◦Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished.
◦Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years.
◦Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison
Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico -- such as working with out a permit -- can also be imprisoned.
Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population says,
◦"A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally."
◦Foreigners with legal immigration problems may be deported from Mexico instead of being imprisoned.
◦Foreigners who "attempt against national sovereignty or security" will be deported.
Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under the law:
◦A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison.
◦Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined.
Do what you like. I'm not going to follow some arbitrary Robert's Rules of Order to play nice, while this slow motion train wreck of an election is taking place.
Our field has been inspected, and found sorely wanting. Our very best potential candidate is sitting it out, and probably will continue to do so, but that won't stop me from objecting to it.

If congress would get their butts in gear nd end this anchor baby crap, a LOT of this problem would stop being a problem.
If Congress would get its butt in gear and mandate that ENGLISH is the law of the land, more of the problem would be solved. No more welfare forms in 19 different languages. Can’t speak, read, and write English, no job, no license, no vote, no school, no nothing.
I do not want to pick up the phone and call an AMERICAN company and be told to press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish. I do not want my tax payer dollars paying for translators for illegal felons who can’t speak English. If they are not American citizens, why are they entitled to OUR Constitutional rights? I don’t care what country they are from either. If they want a “fair” trial, make their HOME country pay for it. If they MUST be incarcerated here, let their own country pay for that too...and if they won’t, send the damn criminals to jail until they learn English, then try them. If they are terrorists, go straight to Gitmo, do not pass go. If you are an American citizen and you commit a terrorist act against this country, automatic loss of citizenship.
There are a lot of things we can do besides these.
What GOPer has a position that is markedly different from Newt’s? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t know of anyone in the field who is advocating deporting everyone who is here illegally.
He didn’t say he was against E-verify, he said it wouldn’t make a bit of difference and the main problem was to secure the borders. I’m not a huge Perry fan, but I do think if he was elected he would shut down the borders. I just can’t forgive him for giving illegals in state tuition that citizens paid for with their tax dollars.
Exactly, self deportation is the only solution and it will come about if the carrots are removed.
It is impossible to investigate individual illegals so that those who fit Newt’s parameters are allowed to stay. If they are here illegally they have broken the laws, either last week, or 25 years ago. Even if they go to church it should not be overburdened taxpayers who must shell out to find out which it is. This is another attempt for a costly back door amnesty for the benefit of employers and the US Chamber of Commerce looking for labor that will work cheaper than Americans.

Not only that, but NO press 2 for Spanish, no forms in Spanish, you want to come here do it legally and learn to speak our language. It costs an absolute fortune to cater to these people that have been here for decades and still can’t speak our language and that goes for the Cuban Americans too.
Sorry, but this whole debate last night was engineered to hurt Newt - the one the media fears most. All of you here complaining about him are giving the MSM a victory.
Newt was hardly called upon to answer questions - he could have knocked most of them out of the park. The focus was mostly on Paul to make it appear that he is “coming back.”
The few questions he was asked were designed to damage him - an assault by Wolf Blitzer, whom we know came into the debate with the intent to damage Newt.
The bottom line is that, like it or not, Newt is far better than Obama and the best of the field that can actually win the primary. Shhhhhh... don’t tell the MSM...
And, as someone has already mentioned, 25 years is not an arbitrary number... 1986 was the year Reagan granted “Amnesty,” even though he was duped. So, the people Newt was talking about are already legal under Reagan’s law.
Not sure, thats a good question though. His character is so warm and jovial and positive, I have a mind to believe he likes everyone up there.
It’s a bogus argument that people have to look past glaring flaws in the Republican candidates or somehow they’re supporting Obama. At the end of the day 99% of people on FR will vote for the Republican candidate, no matter how distasteful, but until the nomination process is finished they have every right - duty - to hold the candidates’ feet to the fire and make them earn the support of conservatives. Conservatives settled for something less in 2008 and it resulted in defeat. The notion that the most non-conservative Republican is a guaranteed winner is disproven in every election cycle.
