A key Iowa social conservatives group announced Tuesday it will not endorse former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney or businessman Herman Cain, but is still evaluating if it would back one of the other candidates.
The Family Leader, which hosted a forum that six Republican candidates attended last Saturday, said in a statement that its board had narrowed its choices of an endorsement to Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and ex-senator Rick Santorum (Penn). The statement said the group would not consider endorsing Romney, who the group criticized for skipping its event.
The group said it opted against Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) because he does not support constitutional amendments banning gay marriage and abortion, and said they had concerns about Cain on life, marriage, foreign policy, and presidential readiness. Both Cain and Paul had attended the forum

So you agree with org.dotdumass that this group is a bunch of crackers and reminds him of Jonestown?
You have been informed in other posts that your video selectively edits the interview to make it appear he says that about abortion when he does not. Why do you insist on promoting this distortion?
This is a thread on the Family Leader quickly ruling out Cain. My take is Cain making pro abortion like noises in an interview on CNN. I submitted my evidence to support that supposition, ONLY after reading nothing but smear Newt posts up until then.
Wrong, knot head the post was, your comments were the same as jones town.
The video does not selectively edit out anything. The only selective editing going on here is in your brain.
That you have fallen so far from intellectual rationality that you would be willing to knowingly lie about Cain in the vain hope it would help Newt is sad.
I wonder why this family group ruled out Cain so quickly? Hmmmm, I think that is what this thread is about.
Well, you were given the benefit of the doubt that you were just ignorant and not a liar. You failed. You are a despicable liar.
I don’t really understand it. Newt isn’t even very conservative. Sure, he’s been bashing the media lately, but go back 10 years or further and what you see is an Establishment type Pub with serious moral flaws. And no, I’m not talking about his marital problems. Tons of people get divorced. Tons of people “come to God” later on. I’m talking about his stances on the environment, his agreement with leftist manufactured problems (such as fossil fuels being baaad) and his solution to these make-believe problems. And then we’re expected to believe that somehow he’s had a “come to Jesus” moment in time for this election cycle, and somehow everything he wrote in his books, things he’s said to the media, his condemnation of “right wing” extremism, his rebuke of the tea party for trying to “purge” people, and people he’s sat down with, doesn’t count anymore? C’mon. Why vote Newt when you can even just go back to Perry or Santorum or Bachman or someone like that? It’s completely illogical. It’s almost as if people are making their decisions based on soundbytes and not the actual substance of an issue.
I’m for Cain all the way. And not just because he’s black or sounds good, but because I see tremendous potential in the 999 plan to change the culture of this country, and also I favor the Fair tax which the 999 plan is phase 1 of a two part plan to achieve.
To everyone that's call me a liar, why was Cain dropped so fast by this Family Group? Hint "life" was specifically mentioned as a reason, dud. But hey enjoy your hate fest.
They probably keep Newt in the running because he is doing well in the polls and (as far as I know) been fairly consistent on pro-life issues and pro-family issues as well. Certainly Backmann and Santurom are.
Remember that. You can either STOP LYING, or you can get with the Cain Train Program. Either way. One of the other. Either stop lying, or join the Cain folks.
:-)
Yeah, keep telling yourself that. It’s not the excuse Cain gave for his answer, but apparently Cain’s excuse wasn’t good enough for you, so you had to make up your own.
If you watched the video, Cain was discussing the issue of rape, as to whether a woman raped should have to raise a child or to give it up for adoption So yes, in this case, the statement is a lie. Cain is prolife.
Cain is my first pick, Newt is second. A Cain/ Newt ticket is a home run.
