Rick Perry's Jihad Problem
http://www.americanthinker.com ^ | November 22, 2011 | Robert Spencer

Posted on 11/22/2011 4:53:21 AM PST by Old Badger

Rick Perry is woefully unfit to be president of the United States, but not because he couldn't remember a key element of his own program during a recent debate, or because he gave a speech while possibly drunk. Rick Perry is woefully unfit to be president of the United States because he is a tool of Grover Norquist, the man who may be more responsible than anyone else for enabling Muslim Brotherhood access to the highest levels of power in the U.S.

Gov Rick’s "agreement of understanding" with Muslims led to the building of a triumphal mosque on Texas soil---and the implementation of Sharia law in the Texas justice system (more below). Perry’s daughter is married to a high ranking Muslim.

Fast-forward to 2012 candidate Perry----who is demanding the dismantling of the US federal govt. You can bet your bottom dollars his pals in Islam and Mexico are calling the shots on that one......these foreigners are hellbent on getting Perry elected in order to further their hidden agendas on the backs of US taxpayers.

============================================

NOTE Perry has not signed a memorandum of understanding with CHRISTIAN-AMERICANS

=============================================

Here is Perry's obeisance speech to Islam---direct from the TX Gov website.

When he had the chance at the foreign policy debate, Perry mentioned nary a word about his foreign policy triumph WRT Islam. And not a word about his extensive outreach to Mexico. Clearly, Perry wants this kept quiet.

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR Gov Perry addresses the Aga Khan: “It is a great honor to be in the presence of the Imam of 16 million Muslims around the world, a global humanitarian leader, a man of peace with a pluralistic vision for people around the world, His Highness, the Aga Khan, the 49th Hereditary Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims. Your Highness, on behalf of 23 million Texans, and over 600,000 thousand Muslims living in Texas, I extend our heartfelt appreciation for your 50 years of great international leadership.

We are delighted to welcome you to the Lone Star State and participate in the celebration of your Golden Jubilee. I am also grateful to the many federal, state and local leaders in attendance tonight. By their presence, these special guests convey the profound respect that exists in the Western World for His Highness’ work and leadership.”

In April 2004, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and Univ of Texas-Austin finalized a grant proposal that created the partnership that became known as the Muslim Histories and Cultures Program (MHC).

MHC recruited and directly trained 80 teachers affecting approximately 15,150 students of World History and World Geography in ten key Texas districts in 2005 and 2006.

The purpose is two-fold 1) to fulfill Governor Rick Perry’s desire to better educate Texas teachers on Muslim topics and 2) to train teachers to use a cultural lens approach to understanding other cultures.

Governor Perry was instrumental in getting this program off the ground (and was helpful in getting a triumphal mosque built in Texas and placing Sharia Law in the Texas justice system). ####

This is my problem with the article: it makes it sound like Norquist’ main thrust is his Islamic ties and that the main reason Perry hangs around is that same thrust.

The problems I have with that are:
A: Norquist has a great history on tax issues dating back long before any of his Islamic issues came up.
B: Perry is likely acquainted due to their shared view of taxation
C: Perry has been one of the three, and in some ways the most, blatant follower of Jesus of any of the candidates (Bachmann and Santorum as well). I don’t square this with being a Muzz symp.

People can walk and chew gum at the same time.

I think it’s cute when you point out someone has published a hit piece on a candidate.

There is a big difference between articles that contain facts and articles like this one that has broken links and is filled with falsehoods.

I was shocked to learn of Norquist’s associations, but it doesn’t change the fact that Americans for Tax Reform is a group that has done great things for us. For that reason, I’ll keep vigilant on Norquist but will not reject everything he ever says or does out of hand.

I can only imagine that Perry - a devout Christian - feels the same way.

I have problems with Norquist, and Coulter (as an example), etc - but I refuse to simply throw them away completely which would be to ignore the tremendous good they have done for our beliefs. A lot of folks around here seem to find one flaw and chuck folks out completely based on that.

I really don't have a dog in that hunt. But I've seen enough over-the-top internet claims in my time that it piqued my interest enough to try and run it down.

A governor's daughter getting married is always a big enough story to get prominent coverage in the state's newspapers. No sign of such.

I checked Wiki for bios on the Aga Khan's sons. One is married to someone else, another does not appear to be married, and the third is just a kid.

So if folks are citing that kind of verifiable horsecrap about Perry's daughter, what else is horsecrap in this story?

Uh, yeah, sure, Perry has nothing better to do than run around and refute every tidbit of internet nonsense out there.

2012 Perry doesn't want voters to know too much about him----apparently his factotums have been instructed to cleanse his web sites of any damaging material WRT Islam and Mexico.

Perry stupidly tried to burnish his foreign policy creds by outreach to Mexico and Islam-----but that turned toxic-----Perry found out the voters did not approve.

So dont expect to find anything online that might interfere with Perry's plans to gull the voters.

Never one to let Texans in on his activities as Governor, we now learn that Texans did not know Gov Perry was giving illegals in-state tuition. Found out when Perry stupidly made it a ntl issue at the debate.

Really are you a Newt supporter? I can’t stand Norquist but I think he has got his fingers in everything. Including the Abramoff Scandal. remember what abramoff said about Newt. So it looks like the polling shows Newt is going to bring the same ole pols into the WH with him.

In the words of Newt Gingrich, Grover Norquist is “the person who I regard as the most innovative, creative, courageous and entrepreneurial leader of the anti-tax efforts and of conservative grassroots activism in America . . . He has truly made a difference and truly changed American history.”

P.J. O’Rourke says, “Grover Norquist is Tom Paine crossed with Lee Atwater plus just a soupcon of Madame Defarge.”

Senator Mitch McConnell says, “It’s because of soldiers like Grover that the conservative movement is so vibrant today and that the liberals who thought they had taken over two years ago are on the run.”

“No one in modern times has fought harder to shrink the state than the founder of the group Americans for Tax Reform.” — John Stossel, March 24, 2011 during Fox Business Network’s Stossel

Arianna Huffington calls Norquist “The dark wizard of the Right’s anti-tax cult”

Mr. Norquist holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, both from Harvard University. He lives in Washington, DC with his wife, Samah and his daughters, Grace.and Giselle.

You’re correct that Governor Perry’s daughter is not even married yet. Governor Perry was asked just recently, besides his marriage and the birth of his children, what was the most cherished time of his life. The governor answered saying that, besides his marriage and the birth of his children, his most cherished time was when his son found the beautiful woman God had planned all along for his son. Governor Perry then added that his most precious FUTURE joy would then be when his daughter found the man God has saved for her. So she is not married yet nor is she even engaged at this time.

Myth #4: Perry is soft on Islam.

Salon.com recently reported that Perry was a “pro-Shariah” candidate, a charge that obviously got heavy traction among conservatives – and with good reason. It’s a serious charge. It’s also dramatically false, as columnist David Stein points out. Perry’s relationship is with a Muslim leader called the Aga Khan, who leads a sect called the Ismailis, which has 15-20 million followers. Aga Khan has been labeled an infidel by both Sunnis and Shias for his support for Israel. Perry worked with Aga Khan to implement an educational element in the Texas curriculum about Islam. Here are some of the elements of that educational program: “Muslims often lack respect for Western traditions and points of view … From its early days, Islam reacted aggressively toward its civilized neighbors the Byzantines and the West …While Westerns studied Islamic culture, Muslims showed almost no interest in Western culture, remaining ignorant of modernity and its impact.” The program also calls Israel “the historic homeland of Jews” and gives details about how Arab states refused to admit Palestinian refugees after 1948. There’s a reason Perry has won the Defender of Jerusalem award from the State of Israel, and it’s not just because Texas is Israel’s fourth largest trading partner.

But you knew that.
