Did you know that the turkey you're going to enjoy on Thanksgiving Day this Thursday is probably halal? If it's a Butterball turkey, then it certainly is.
I discovered that only two plants in the U.S. that perform halal slaughter keep the halal meat separated from the non-halal meat. At other meat-packing plants, animals are slaughtered following halal requirements, but then only a small bit of the meat is actually labeled halal.
Wendy Howze, a Butterball Consumer Response Representative, responded: "Our whole turkeys are certified halal."
Halal slaughter involves cutting the trachea, the esophagus, and the jugular vein, and letting the blood drain out while saying "Bismillah allahu akbar" -- in the name of Allah the greatest. Many people refuse to eat it on religious grounds.
Others object because of the cruelty to animals that halal slaughter necessitates.
Still others refuse to do so on principle: why should we be forced to conform to Islamic norms? It's Islamic supremacism on the march, yet again.
Non-Muslims in America and Europe don't deserve to have halal turkey forced upon them in this way, without their knowledge or consent.
The same Islamic law that mandates that animals be cruelly slaughtered according to halal requirements also teaches hatred of and warfare against unbelievers, the oppression of women, the extinguishing of free speech, and much more that is inimical to our freedom. Don't support it on this celebration of freedom. Join our Facebook group, 'Boycott Butterball'.
Don't buy a Butterball turkey for Thanksgiving.

I got a feelin' this Thanksgiving is gonna be a memorable one ...
I'll finally get a neighbor. LOL!
When do you think we buy turkeys? You give us a story the day before cooking starts. Oh well. I never do boycotts anyway because bad news is as good as good news when you consider that everyone talks about it. Too late for this as Butterball already sold all the turkeys.
If the Passover product goes to the trouble of including ground up unleavened bread (matzo) then yes it still has gluten.

............................................................
Daniel Pearl was Halal: I never knew that
That roughly translates as “You’ll need Pepto-Bismol when you hear us scream ‘Allah Akhbar’” (ok, ok, I took some liberties with it :-)
***and letting the blood drain out while saying Bismillah allahu akbar in the name of Allah the greatest. Many people refuse to eat it on religious grounds.***
So another words, you are an activist because you believe in Allah. I don’t give a dang what they scream. Allah is fiction so basically they might as well say, Mickey Mouse please pray on this turkey. I could cares less if they even use Mickey while preparing because as soon as that bird hits our table, we wipe out all their fictional prayers and I pray to God....the true God as most FREEPERS believe.
So, prayer makes you lose your appetite, or Arabic, or the self-identity of the guy making the prayer?
Prayer to a demon does.
Halal slaughter involves cutting the trachea, the esophagus, and the jugular vein, and letting the blood drain out while saying Bismillah allahu akbar
If you believe that the company does this to every bird than I have a bridge to sell you. First of all you would have to have many Muslim Clerics onboard and for them to announce a single prayer before or during every killing would slow down production. There is no way that this is being done. Not cost effective at all. Although telling people they do that could add a few Muslims to their buying group. First of all, in Turkey factories, you will find millions of hispanics who are not going to say those words as they are the ones doing to work. Most are Catholic so even if the company made them say the words every throat cut, it would not mean anything as Catholics don’t believe in those words. I can honestly say this is much ado about nothing.
I can’t believe that an illegal alien chanted some muzzie crap before they killed a turkey.
Sorry.
Well, there's always the fear in the back of your mind, that the islamoturkey may just explode killing everyone at the table.
Prayer to a demon does.
Do you believe in that demon? If you don’t than the minute you pray at the table it erases all that nonsense that they spew.
So your defense of the company is the lie. I am not impressed. I called the hot line. They claim the birds are hallal.
Slaughtering animals by cutting the jugular vein is not particular to Islam. It’s only Islam that makes the practice into a superstitious ritual.
From Rabbi Lerner:
Judaism has always respected the lives of animal - from the time of giving of the Ten Commandments until the present. Rules for kosher slaughtering of animals developed from the rules of the sacrificial system in the Temple. By the time of the Rabbis - at least 2000 years ago - Jews took the lives of animals as humanely as possible according to the best science of the day.
During those 3000 and more years, animals were slaughtered in the most inhumane ways by virtually every people on the face of the earth. This inhumane slaughtering continues today in more places in the world than not.
Recently, kosher slaughtering has been undergoing some change in response to new scientific information. Jews have begun to alter the traditional “hoisting and shackling” to favor a pen, even though it is a much slower procedure and increases the cost of kosher meat.
In addition to being lifted up, a ritual slaughterer must move to the animal quickly, use a knife that is incredibly sharp and without even the slightest nick, and cut through the animal’s trachea and esophagus in a single motion (at least one of these for fowl). All this is required in order to try to minimize the animal’s suffering.
The ultimate question is whether it is possible to kill an animal without causing some pain and fear? Given the answer is not definitely positive, Judaism has endorsed vegetarianism - which does not require killing an animal - as a “higher” form of eating.
In sum, you can reassure your son that kosher slaughtering is the way that Jews try to minimize the pain and fear felt by animals being killed for food.
Halal and Kosher man permitted foods. It is the method of slaughter. Also drains the blood. Happy Turkey Day.
“Too late. Can I make up for it by passing gas in the direction of Mecca?”
This will help you point in the right direction:

In buying a turkey there are many choices. I would prefer to buy from a company who does not dedicate their product to Satan.
They aren’t claiming the bird is Kosher. They are claiming it’s hallal. I don’t care how they kill it. I care they pray to a demon at the moment of death.
Love this country, freedom and all.
