The Center for Health Transformation, founded by Newt Gingrich, released a statement Monday outlining some of the think tank’s activities, its membership fees and the money it has generated. The disclosure from the center, which Mr. Gingrich left earlier this year, comes amid a flurry of inquiries about the former House speaker’s financial ties.

A number of news stories last week listed clients such as the American Hospital Association and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, or PhRMA, the main trade association for pharmaceutical houses. The Washington Post reported that Mr. Gingrich’s center had collected $37 million over the past eight years.

The statement from the Center for Health Transformation puts its revenues for the past decade at $55 million.

All of this in order to lobby for individual mandates on healthcare?

As I recall it was ideas to make the health care industry more efficient such as automating doctor's offices and co ordinating with pharmacies. He also had an idea to have a national data bank that would list every persons medical history so that if that person had to be treated in another state on an emergency basis they could just access his history and medications online. The idea was efficient but it was felt that this type of data base could be compromised and misused.

Right. Now Freepers think it’s immoral for a private business to make money? Zuccotti Park, anyone?

It is beginning to look like it!

GEEEEZZZZ! This ‘reporter’ worked for an organization funded in part by George Soros (& dozens of other left-wing millionaires) for crying out loud. She has a lot of room to talk!

“The statement from the Center for Health Transformation puts its revenues for the past decade at $55 million.”

That is chicken feed in todays money. That is only $5.5 million per year on average. All I can say on this news is “yawn”.

how predictable, the left wing MSM looking and reporting on anything they can find on our lot while they still ignore their messiah and his past.

My 14 year old came home today and said he was told congress is at it’s lowest numbers and obama is 40% and then asked why is that.

One word son.

media, they have been lying for him for years and covering for him.

Fred
everytime I see a thread you pout up I see it is anti Newt.
So it leave me with the impression that either you are working for someone or at least you have an agenda.

Either way why not come clean?

$5 million per annum is truly minuscule by Washington standards. A small office. Likely a staff of ten or less. Contracts sub-contracted out to experts. The rainmaker would have to be Newt himself.

He would have never made this kind of money if he weren't Speaker of the House. He's selling insider intellectual information to Lobbyists. He may not be doing the actual Lobbying, but he's writing the script and pulling the strings.

Wonder where he would be today without his Congressional Credentials. Probably making $100,000 teaching at some left-wing university in Georgia.

Probably making $100,000 teaching at some left-wing university in Georgia.

I actually knew him when I attended West Georgia College from 70-74. He was my girlfriend's faculty adviser and she liked so much she changed her major to history and took four classes under him.

I also was a constituent of his when the Democratic Party (which had run Georgia since before the Civil War) eliminated his district in an attempt to get rid of him so he moved to the Atlanta suburbs to (successfully) retain his seat.

He was admired by just about everyone who met him and I have no doubt he would have been successful at whatever career he might have chosen. I've known a few authors that have made serious coin.
