SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. (AP) -- Air Force officials say an airman armed with a pistol has barricaded himself in a building at a Colorado Air Force base that controls all GPS satellites, but operations haven't been disrupted.
Schriever (SHREE'-ver) Air Force Base spokeswoman Jennifer Thibault (THEE'-balt) says the building was evacuated after the standoff began Monday. She says no shots were fired and no one was injured.

I’m sure he was just inquiring about the ‘snackbar’.
The officers in charge of getting him out of the tank(short of having another tank fire on him)promised him the world,"We won't hurt you, please come out and we will talk to Inge or Hilda or whatever the he** her name is"and he eventually came out. As soon as his feet touched the ground some NCOs beat the living crap out of him and I don't know how much time he did in Leavenworth. Inge got along with out him some how.
No, I typed the exact title and got that.I have no idea.
Or ‘base’.
Is it bah—say?
Baz-ee?
I’m lost without the phonetics. I’m hooked on phonetics!
THAT sounds disturbingly familiar.
Only trouble with that is that it doesn’t send a good message for the next guy the MPs have to negotiate with. Need to wait until he’s behind closed doors before you let “a door close on him” while he’s “helping you with your enquiries”.
It’ll be alright. High power rifle take him right out.
I’ll provide the bullets.
Why, do you think they wouldn’t shoot you because they’re girls? I think they wouldn’t shoot you because of asinine rules of engagement that allow crap like this to go on and take the lives of our service members.
I seriously doubt this meathead is anywhere near someplace he could do damage.
Uuuuuhhhh, your tank model kind of telling on your age...loved the story!
My partner and I were sitting at a bar at the International Airport at Harare, Zimbabwe, some years ago. We were awaiting an embassy support, a C-141 from Charleston AFB. We watched the little spot in the sky grow into a big Starlifter. As soon as the wheels touched down, we downed our Castle Lagers and hopped into our vehicle. We showed our creds to the guards at the gate. We pulled up alongside the bird as it came to a stop. We dismounted and waited for the door to open. When it did, the loadmaster was standing in the door, with an M-16 slung across HER chest. Maybe we should say “loadmistress.” A few years later, during OPERATION JUST CAUSE in Panama, I got stuck behind a convoy of soldiers. As we were stopped at a light, I saw that the deuce-and-a-half was full of MPs. The one closest to the rear had bright red nail polish.
it is hit or miss.
remember when the MSM was touting some young lady on an ambushed convoy and it turned out she never fired a shot?
Nope, just got a kick out of 20 year old girls with M4s and too-big helmets manning the gates.
There is a chance they wouldn't shoot me because their mags are empty. I didn't want to know though.
Actually took a computer service call on the Air Base back when it was still called Falcon Air Force Base. They were installing some rather incredible security entrance gates when I went onto the base. Retina scanners and they also weighed you going in and coming out. So they were planning on putting something important there. Do not remember what the computer service call was, but I was mainly working on Unix Graphic based Workstations back then. Fun stuff.
There IS something compellingly sexy about chicks with automatic weapons....:^)
I’m just sayin’....
There is...
