The LDS Church is politically neutral, as is MDL. Mormons hold elected office and positions of responsibility in both US political parties and various parties worldwide. When we respond to any issue regarding politics, we do so only to correct misinformation and misperceptions about the Church, not in an effort to promote a particular candidate or party.
Recently, Politico reported that part of President Obamas 2012 reelection campaign strategy will be to portray Mitt Romney, a Mormon and possible Republican presidential nominee, as weird. The Politico report did not specifically tie the weird charge to Romneys Mormon faith, but many commentators have speculated that is the logical application of such a strategy.
Commentators from various political perspectives have also condemned any such strategy. Blogger Jane Hamsher wrote: To preach religious tolerance as Obama does, and then engage in this kind of appeal to religious bigotry, is both hypocritical and pernicious, not to mention self-defeating
As the economy gets worse, people better be really careful about stoking tribalist rage against any minority. Researcher and author Glenn Stanton agreed: Yes, you can be pretty sure that it will be his Mormon faith where most of the weirdness innuendos will land. And this from a president who had to finally and reluctantly distance himself from his own faith heritage. Former presidential speechwriter David Frum noted: The attacks will tiptoe up to the line of outright anti-Mormon bigotry. In Time, political reporter Michael Crowley summed it up: Youd like to think that the people who work for a man who has been slurred countless times because of his race would take a higher road.

Just WHAT wuz ON them ‘plates’ that he didn’t use?

So, you just admitted that you are a mittens supporter. That makes you a liberal. Mittens is bashed on this site because he’s a lying liberal. You are trotting out anti-mormonism as the reason he isn’t liked or respected. A typically liberal tactic.
Get lost.
Get a big scary dog and answer the door wearing nothing but a python.
[it works on Jehovah’s Witnesses, anyway]
:)
Now THAT is weird, lawyer.
John Smith dictated a new gospel read from gold tablets at the bottom of a top hat left by Jesus when he came to America... no nothing weird about that... /sarc
I don't care who you are, that's just plain weird.
This is why the MSM is giving Romney a pass right now, THEY KNOW HOW FREAKING WIERD AND DISHONEST HE IS AND THAT OBAMA WILL ANNIHILATE HIM, in no small part because CHRISTIAN WILL NEVER VOTE FOR A CULT MEMBER !
Take your white horse prophecy and Romney's Scissors and step away from the constituion, it still hangs by a thread.
He did not “make your point” at all.
He asked a legitmate question.
Romney is a two-faced liar. Do Mormons want to be associated with such a person? Does he represent all Mormons? Why has no Mormon condemened his lies and conemened him for being a liar- from a Religious standpoint?
Is this Mormon Taqqiya? (Muslim permision to lie to infidels, for the promotion of islam)
The King James Version of the Bible is what we use.

Use yes
Mormons pick bits out of the Bible to use against Christians
But Christians READ the Bible and BELIEVE every word ...
You're right, most of the rank and file members are nice folks, but THEY ARE VICTIMS. Folks like the lawyer that posted this article go to great lengths to cover up, hide, deny, lie cheat and steal in cult-leader wolf fashion to keep the sheep in production.
Romney is of cult leadership level. HE KNOWS THESE SECRETS AND TRIES TO HIDE THEM FROM THE OTHER MEMBERS TO KEEP THEM TRAPPED IN BELIEF OF WHAT HE KNOWS IS A LIE.
Look at how much he lies in political life to gain and understanding of how mormon leadership works....Harry Reid also.
We NEVER get solicitors.
Although in your case, this one would be "funnier"....;D
“Obama’s strategy. It seems to be working quite well around here. “
When you start a thread with the above statement, you aren’t looking for a discussion about Obama. You’re looking to start a fight.
And it seems to have worked.
I suppose Mitt Romney is about as much of a Mormon as Obama is a Christian...
Why would you even want to acknowledge that he’s a Mormon? Isn’t that a smear on the faith?
I read the “Book of Mormon” years ago.
L. Ron Hubbard’s “Dianetics” was more entertaining.
:)
;0)
Yes the offshoot LDS sect of mormonism claims that the book of mormon written by FLDS/LDS "Prophet" Joe Smith is the "most correct of any book on earth", AND that Smith's "Retranslation" of the ENTIRE bible (JST) is fraudulent, so they use the "mistranslated" bible God(s) told Smith not to use instead.
FREEPERS WATCH. EVEN THE TRAINED LAWYER SAUNDRA DUFFY CANNOT EXPLAIN THIS AWAY, SHE NEVER RESPONDS TO THIS. BEHOLD, THE MIND CONTROL OF A CULT !
Excellent post! We have been saying this ever since Romney decided he is foreordained to rule the country...and the world.
Romney needs to go down first and foremost because he's a massachussetts liberal with policy history identical to Bill Clinton. He's got no place on a ticket representing honest conservatives. His leadership position in a deceptive cult is just putrid icing on a rotten cake.
Jim will you zot this Romneybot lawyer once and for all please ?
When I was younger, sitting on the front porch drinking beer and smoking cigs would deter them. They would stand across the street eyeballing me and deciding on whether or not to approach. They never did make an attempt to cross the street.
Duffy’s a lawyer?
No way...
I always tell them I’m a warlock and if they don’t get off my property and stay off, I’ll put a curse on them.
Seems to have worked so far.
