After having some of her behind the scenes shenanigans exposed, Nancy Pelosi has turned to her friends in the MSM to help her with damage control. The effect is something akin to watching what scrambles out after you overturn a large rock.

I disagree. It's not a matter of Nancy being “clueless”, but rather that she has no “conscience” and thus that is the reason for her being a Demoncrat, as well as being able to vote for unconscionable legislation like Obamacare, and supporting OWS.
She's a conscienceless liberal, asshat, douchebag.
God gave us a conscience in order for us to decide “right” from “wrong”. Yet, because Nancy and her fellow liberals discarded their conscience (and souls) for the cause of progressivism, she expects the rest of us to do the same.
If there is a hell, I expect Nancy to receive admittance to the VIP room when she arrives there.

Maybe she lights candles in church, or has a crucifix or a picture of the Sacred heart in her house, or routinely attends family baptisms. Or maybe not,
But, you are not trying to pass yourself off as a "devout Catholic". I still consider myself Catholic, but I disagree with some of the church's stances, so I would never try to pass myself off as "devout".
There are people who don’t have the “conscience thing”. We call them sociopaths.

Do a google on “lieberman devout” and you will see that your premise is quite incorrect. Also try “devout baptist”, “devout episcopalean” (Robert E. Lee is so described on one site), “devout jew” or even “devout muslim”.

“Conscience thing” is a reference to the Baltimore diocese teaching in the 50’s that devout Catholics practice the sacraments. Ethics and Biblicism are not part of this teaching. She believes herself justified in her faith just as Mafiosa are justified as devout Catholics. They follow the sacraments and ignore the teachings.
Nanny is Catholic in the same sense that Mittens is Republican
or Boston.

She definitely is not a “devote” Catholic. She’s not Catholic at all. She doesn’t know the first thing about the Catholic religion and beliefs. She has never seen an abortion she didn’t like. She really is clueless. Too bad she doesn’t have an informed moral conscience. The reason she continues to get reelected is because she represents kooks and moral anemics, who find her their cup of tea.
Being “devout” would seem to imply having a conscience but I guess not to San Fran Nan.
