The various "Occupy Wall Street" demonstrations around the country declared Thursday to be a "day of action" in the ongoing protest of big banks and Wall Street policies that they blame for a sagging economy.
While thousands protested in Manhattan, Los Angeles and other cities, several hundred people took to the streets of downtown Amherst.
According to video supplied to The Republican by Julie Varney of Amherstwire.com, demonstrators assembled in front of Bank of New England branch at South Pleasant and Amity Streets.
At one point, the footage shows demonstrators storming into the bank lobby to disrupt business. After several moments, demonstrators crossed the street and repeated the action inside TD Bank.
The video concludes with police responding, and protesters marching out of the bank.
Amherst police Thursday night said there was no information about whether anyone was arrested.

My sister works at that branch. The hourly employees that are working to pay their bills and put a roof over their heads were swore at and threatened with violence by this group of unwashed hooligans. They damaged the ATM and lobby and threatened to burn the place to the ground. My sister said they had such hate in their eyes and is positive that many would commit murder for "the movement" without hesitation.
The violence, threats and destruction the Tea Party never committed is done by OWS and mostly ignored by the MSM.
Ya know I think it is almost toime for Americans to start taking the law into their own hands, since it seems the Police have no intention of stopping this crap.
Sadly, we even have some here defending these OWS punks (dealing with one on another thread now).
The problem is that the police are told to allow the Occupy Wall Street spoiled children to break the law. If these spoiled brats were arrested immediately and had to spend 6 months to 1 year in prison they would learn some consideration for others.
Until then, the spoiled children do whatever they want and the protests(or should I say temper tantrums) continue.
Welcome to Amerika, where our government promotes communist gangs running the streets in the name of whatever.
What the Hell is going on here?
‘Tis now why I CCW.
Thank you, President Obama.
is there a you tube video of this?
I can’t see the video due to the settings and blocks by the anti virus I have here.
Marxist and anarchists being paid by Obama Stimulus.
Bank of America panders to illegal aliens. The faster they go belly up, the better.
Just like the Tea Party demonstrations...
Amherst, where UMass professor Jenny Traschen attended a town meeting about when to display flags in town and responded that the American flag is a symbol of terrorism and repression, etc.
About 12-13 hrs later, two jets that flew out of Logan
Airport in Boston flew into the Twin Towers.

“These children that come at you with knives, they are your children. You taught them. I didn’t teach them. I just tried to help them stand up.—Charles Manson
frigging idiots, a bunch of kids who have never worked a day in their life wanting a revolution and one turd saying they want free education for all.
Someone has to pay for it unless their teachers work for free so why not go back to college and demand their professors work for nothing
So I go to the bank with my kids and I have to put up with that crap, no way.
This is all leading up to “Occupy Republican Caucuses and Primaries.
Get ready for it...
