What you are describing is globalism. Globalism is communism in a business suit sold under the false flag of 'free trade', 'comparative advantage', profits 'uber alles', with no reference to patriotism and ethics. The enemy within has been very successful in creating a story for the left about economic, social, and environmental justice and a story for the right about globalism. Both stories lead to the same place - destruction of the american economy and middle class under the tyranny of global communism.
'Free trade' is based upon Richardo's theory of comparative advantage. For Ricardo's theory of comparative advantage to work, a country's labor, capital, and technology must not move offshore. Ricardo himself admits this. International immobility is necessary to prevent a business from seeking an absolute advantage by going abroad. His theory only works for such factors as geography and climates. Ricardo assumes that patriotism will check investment abroad even under absolute advantage.
