As OWS was the logical outcome of three years of Obama's fascistic class warfare rhetoric, nationalizing America's most profitable global companies is the logical outcome of the OWS movement. As corporations are not people no one will be hurt as we nationalize. It takes medium-sized cities in Shenzhen and Chengdu for Foxconn to manufacture Apple products in China. (snip) The repatriation of Apple manufacturing infrastructure to the US could create as many as 500,000 positions--all high paying, high quality union jobs--here at home, offsetting by at least a factor twenty-five the jobs lost by the delay of the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Alberta, BC to the Gulf of Mexico. (snip) the cost of manufacturing an iPad 2 might double if its production were moved from China to the US. But this difference can be easily offset with no harm to Apple through subsidies awarded to the 99%. Any American in the top 1% of the income distribution will pay the American iPad price while the 99% will enjoy the same price level achieved during the period when Apple manufactured the tablet in China. This two-level price structure can be enforced through a national voucher system administered jointly by the IRS and Department of Commerce. The total cost for the program should not exceed $16B, much of it regained by the economic activity of the newly unionized Apple work force. All costs or penalties associated with the shutdown of Apple's Chinese factories and construction of the new domestic factories (distributed according to state population figures) will be borne by Apple. As this program matures and begins to encompass other industries, OWS will slowly fade as a movement, largely because the American economy will reach full employment and there will be no need for Wall Street at all.

If we really has developed socialism, we would be living like in the DDR. And as Communist propaganda would relentlessly tell us, the Communist future is waiting just around the corner.
I’m afraid the OWSers arrived twenty years too late to implement the community organizing of their dreams. It sticks in their craw that Obama has become not the Lenin they hoped but is their Kerensky.
It will be a long time before another revolutionary moment will arrive for them.
erect tariffs on goods that originate in countries whose avg salary is 1/4 our poverty level. this will allow American companies to bring the manufacturing back to the US and turn a profit, instead of being undercut by slave labor produced goods
restrict unions to physical injury issues and push right to work to all states
these are two of the things this country needs to do to get back on track
as for this article, it reads as if a Nazi penned it directly from 1937
Look at the German fascism in the EU. 1937 is here already.
I kid you not.
I agree.
I support capitalism, but not the kind that allows only the headquarters here to make a fortune while average Americans suffer.
I would offer two outcomes.
First, this looks an awful lot like the bonus Army episode of 1934...same look and feel. Bunch of talk....lot of folks showing up....huge protests (37k at that time), and a untimely ending where folks were hurt by the US Army who tried to establish security in DC at the time (it’s the only place in America where federal troops can be called out and act as the security agent of the US government). In this case....the protesters would act like victims and the President would get the sympathy vote in 2012 because of the terrible police actions committed on the innocent Occupy folks.
Second, if you rounded up all the Latino vote, the black vote, and then got most university students in America incited (excited works too)....then you’d likely win enough of the state elections for the electoral college to work. Toss in Hillary as a VP, and I think the Occupy folks are a comical election ploy.
The logical outcome of OWS should be to eliminate the public school system and don’t let your kids watch television.
Anyone who gives a moment’s consideration to any of the demands of OWS needs to stop watching television, forget everything they learned in public schools and start paying attention to the real world.
The author is describing the economics of a fascist state and leaving it to the reader to connect the dots.
This explains his repeated use of the phrase "logical outcome."
Umm, not really. See Detroit, July, 1967.
Just A Modest Proposal...
The author should stick to reporting facts with a bit of hyperbole.
This satire sucked and was actually a hard read.
John Semmens could write something more humorous...
that type of capitalism is encouraged by the globalists.
just another group of progressive trying to diminish America any way they can
A VASTLY better solution is change our income tax laws so it encourages savings and capital investment locally--e.g., at minimum the Steve Forbes no-loophole 17 to 18 percent flat-rate income tax. That way, companies will have WAY less reasons to export jobs, factories, corporate headquarters and even company liquid assets.
I also have never heard of any of these Idealists move from the U.S. to one of those countries to live the proletariat dream.
Actually, after the 1917 Russian revolution thousands of Americanized Russian immigrants moved back to Russia to participate in the wonderful, noble experiment. Stalin had them all sent to prison camps where they died to the last man, woman and child.
Your statement indicates you don’t know what capitalism is.
Capitalist do not support the population. Capitalism allows the population opportunities. suffering is the largely result of lack of individual initiative
You mean like when perversion became normalized as the Nazis were acquiring power?

How's that amorally originated Collaterlized A$$paper digestin' these days thanks to Ken Mehlman and the rest of the Quisling "gay" Old Party infilTRAITORS?
"Oops"
all globalists trot out smoot-hawley
“way less reasons to export jobs”??
you’re unaware of the actual numbers. let me enlighten you with my personal experience.
tech sector. software. standard mid-level developer cost, pre-2008, would range from $60-120k/yr in the US, depending on where. say $90k on avg. tack on the standard 2.5 multiplier for employee cost to the company, and you quickly see a mid level American software dev could run $225k/yr. i was brought in to run a company out of Amsterdam with dev offices in estonia. average mid-level dev cost? $500/mon... $6000/yr. that’s over $200k/yr per employee... we had about 50. what tax break could come close to that? nothing.
then look to the hardware world. a friend of mine is a manager for a smart phone plant in shenzhen china. 300,000 people working for him for peanuts, under $5k/yr. what tax incentive would encourage that company to move its facilities to the US? instead, they have management in the US, manufacturing overseas, and rack in huge profits.
fact is, no amount of tax breaks can equal the savings of slave labor. either erect tariff walls to protect against slave produced goods, or your manufacturing will move to another country (which we’ve seen)
Good for you. Explaining logical outcomes is not the same as advocating them. Logic doesn't always lead to desirable results, it only traces the path your actions must take to remain consistent.
this two-level price structure can be enforced through a national voucher system administered jointly by the IRS and Department of Commerce.
Quack, Waddle...
