Matt Paknis (who writes more on his blog here), a former Graduate Assistant under Joe Paterno and Jerry Sandusky in the late 1980′s, joined WFAN in New York to talk about his connection with Paterno, Sandusky and the Penn State program, what his relationship with Sandusky was like during his time as a graduate assistant in the late 1980s, if he remembers seeing or being suspicious of Sandusky behaving inappropriately around kids, how much contact he had with Paterno as a GA, his assessment of Paterno and Sandusky's relationship back then, why he thinks there's no way that a man as all-knowing and powerful as Paterno could have possibly not known about Sandusky being investigated on sexual abuse against minors allegations, Paterno and the PSU program's image being fraudulent and more a product of media spin rather than true integrity, an example being how Paterno refused to play a black quarterback because the program ‘wasn't ready', being a victim of sexual abuse as a child himself, how that experience growing up as affected his reaction to this story, and why he personally believes that Paterno's involvement in protecting his own image and the brand of the program is similar to how he'd manage and attend to other matters in the years he served as a GA under Paterno.

He isn't. We're seeing how the vast majority of humanity behaves. They cringe when confronted by authority, and fawn on superiors. Doesn't anyone recall the photo of the Supreme Court smirking and smiling in the presence of the usurper 0bama, whose right to rule had been challenged by the peasants? Those so-called conservative jurists crushed the suit of the commoners. The only answer is a constitutional system which severely restricts the power of the rulers. We had that, but it was stolen. If we ever, ever get control of this country back, there must be a ruthless purge of all those who participated in that theft. All of them, regardless of party.
Q: Does it all add up now about Sandusky when thinking back about him then after hearing the allegations brought against him today:
A: "Yeah they do, they do. Just the way he set up that not for profit, he was like a fox in a hen house. And you've got to remember, these kids were vulnerable, they didn't have any dads, they didn't have the financial support. So he knew they didn't have anywhere to turn. It's just about the most evil thing I've ever seen."
Ironically and possibly the odd message in all of this is that the guy interviewed (Mike) was groomed and molested as a young boy by a neighbor and it was football and a great coach that helped him. Just the opposite situation.
I hope his message is a counteractive against this evil. He nails Paterno's character too. Great summary. Thanks for the post.

I have to believe the Penn State media knew or had strong inklings of what was going on and chose to not report it as well.
The Happy Valley media was like Pravda, they toed the party line.
