Fox News Poll: Gingrich and Romney Top GOP Nominee Picks
Fox News ^ | 11/16/2011 | Dana Blanton

Newt Gingrich joins Mitt Romney at front of GOP 2012 field, as Herman Cain falls back.

Newt Gingrich has catapulted to the front of the race for the 2012 Republican nomination while Herman Cain has lost ground with GOP primary voters. Mitt Romney, once again, is holding steady.

A Fox News poll released Wednesday shows Gingrich’s support doubling in the last three weeks. He stood at 12 percent in late October -- before the Cain harassment allegations and Rick Perry’s “oops” debate. Now the former House speaker is at 23 percent, essentially tied for the lead with Romney, with 22 percent.

Romney has been either the frontrunner or in second place in every Fox poll since July. He’s received the backing of between 20-26 percent of GOP primary voters for the last five months.

Cain garners 15 percent. That’s down from 24 percent last month, and slightly below his late-September standing of 17 percent.

The writing on the wall is the media and the left will go after Newt next, and keep up the pattern until they either get their establishment RINO (Romney) or their unicorn and pixy dust dream of Paul to make the Republican field look like a joke (I’ve noticed they’ve been giving him more attention this go-around..)

The media lynching of Cain seems to be working.

And in the end, it will be Romney, because no one will slice and dice him UNTIL he becomes the GOP nominee.

Then the MSM will attack him on Romneycare, his flip-flopping, his views on abortion, the racist views held by his religion in the past (heck, anything they can find on the Mormons, probably going back to its beginnings), etc.

By the end, Romney will lose as bad as McCain did in '08. No, I take that back, it will be worse: Romney will not have a Palin to help his poll numbers.

Romney/Gingrich 2012 = 4 more years (or longer) of Obozo.

For some people, perhaps - for me, it’s because I’ve seen Cain now in several more debates, and realize that once he gets off the “9-9-9” schtick he really doesn’t seem qualified for the job.

Newt, of course, has a whole OTHER set of problems.

Same thoughts have crossed my mind - Media saving their Romney ammo until after they let him skate to the nomination. Once Romney has it, then they'll fire away...

ABC news is doing their number on Newt right now.

Meanwhile, Barry the muslim marxist community organizer that had never had a job in his life continues to skate.

Who is John Galt?

The media lynching of Cain seems to be working.

It has had an effect but Herman can still win this. He just needs to play to his strengths and keep at it.

Romney is still just as unacceptable, and Newt's appeal is still just as limited, as they were a month ago.

Remember the McCain campaign’s opposition research on Romney that they never used? It’s just sitting out there... You know the media has it... And they’ll use it...

That reminds me that there was some hints of opp research done on McCain that never came to light. I’ve wondered if he didn’t tank the election intentionally so as to not have it exposed.

The grain of salt is the fact that Fox News is all in for Mitt.

Doesn’t matter—here in South Carolina we still like Cain and we pick the nominees.

Just sit tight. We'll have a nominee by April 1st (if not before) and then our seven-month nationwide Barry Soetoro blanket party will commence in earnest.

I Love the big smile on Newt's face as the panel looks rather serious.
