Newt Gingrich crushes Cain, Romney, Perry and Paul in California PPP poll
The State Column ^ | 11/15/11 | staff

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has crushed pizza magnate Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Texas Governor Rick Perry and Texas Congressman Ron Paul in a California Public Policy Polling poll of Republican primary voters. With 33 percent of the votes, Gingrich is 10 percentage points in front of Romney and 11 percentage points in front of Cain. Gingrich is 27 percentage points ahead of Perry and 28 percentage points ahead of Paul. The California PPP poll is the latest evidence that Gingrich is benefiting from Cain’s trouble with sexual harassment allegations stemming from his tenure as head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s.

My sentiments but brace yourself for a slew of attacks on Newt now that he is moving up. We will see how he fares. It would be great if he was given an hour on Fox to talk and be truthful about the past ...on Greta’s show maybe.
He is my choice!

It's actually unconstitutional for them to be together on the same ticket, since they're both from Georgia...

Newt's lived in Virginia for years.

No Miss Jane, CA has nearly twice the economy of Texas, this is not even debatable.

But feel free dance around this fact.

I mean how sad is that? A state government run by commies and queers, has a much larger economy than Texas...

But I did enjoy Perry coming over to CA, to the city of Vernon, begging for jobs. I was hoping he'd take the entire city of Vernon with him, since there are nothing but illegals working there in low skill jobs. You guys better watch Perry.

No joke.

Precisely what does it matter if Gingrich “crushes” the rest of them? None of them, including Gingrich will carry California in the general election in November.

>> I'd sure in hell take Newt over Mr. Perry <<

I disagree. Perry sucks, Newt sucks even worse. Perry's camp wants us to believe Al Gore was a conservative in 1988, Newt's campaign wants us to believe the philandering Georgia weasel Newt is now a faithful Catholic and all-american Virginian because of his recent third marriage and because he bought a house inside the D.C. beltway. Pretty much the only way the Perrybots would force me to hold my nose and vote for La Raza Rick is if the ONLY other choice on the ballot was Pelosi's Couch Buddy.

I remember when Fred Thompson talked about going around the Constitutional amendment process and using an unconstitutional method to abolish the electoral college with only a handful of states. There's a reason why betrayals like this were called "Fred's sitting on the couch with Nancy moment" instead of "Fred's La Raza speech moment".

Funny stuff, about as funny as the Texans on here several months ago refusing to admit, Texas under Perry, was the first state in the U.S. to pass in-state tuition for illegals.

Even when shown proof....lol

I live in California and I’m very likely to vote for Newt in the primaries. Not sure what that will do nationwide, but it’s the direction I’m MOST likely going for.

Why so few? Or is that all the Republicans still left in California?

There are over 5 million registered Republicans in the state of California. That equals or surpasses all other states.

As would I. Perry is a pro-ILLEGAL alien turd whose position on instate tuition for ILLEGAL aliens is identical to that of Kalifornia's uber-liberal governor Jerry Brown. No thanks.

That’s a good way to pick candidates. It’s the only way to identify a true smaller government candidate. The last nominee that was opposed by the GOP establishment was Reagan.

“Newt has pretty much “lived” in his “Virginia” residence since he became a Congressman.”

So what? Most other congressmen do too. It’s where they work.

WTF cares? You said it would be unconstitutional for Newt to be on the ticket with Cain. There is no constitutional conflict.

Article 12
The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves;
Where he was born or lived for any portion of his life does not matter according to the Constitution. Where he resides, which is Virginia, is all that matters. You're the one missing the point.

I'd sure in hell take Newt over Mr. Perry.

I don't support Perry, but did you see Gingrich's idea about letting locals decide which illegals can stay? (Maybe Newt would like to reconsider that proposal.) I wonder how many they would decide to deport in Los Angeles.....

Gingrich: I’m looking seriously at the way the Selective Service Act used to work in the 1940s and World War II where a local Selective Service board who knew the local people made the decisions…because I think we are going to want to find some way to deal with the people who are here to distinguish between those who have no ties to the United States and therefore you can deport them at minimum human cost, and those who, in fact, may have earned the right to become legal, but not citizens.”
