While Herman Cains foreign policy stumbles have raised questions about his command of the facts, he says he would consult with military officials and other expert advisers to guide him through the thicket of world affairs.
So who might advise a President Cain? Henry Kissinger, the 88-year-old former secretary of state, has already turned down returning to that job in a Cain administration, the candidate says.
He said hes perfectly happy doing what hes doing, Mr. Cain told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
In a new video excerpt posted on the newspapers Web site, Mr. Cain responds to a question from editors and reporters about who could serve in his administration by citing a number of people he said he has had conversations with.
These include, he said, John R. Bolton, the former ambassador to the United Nations; K.T. McFarland, a onetime aide to Mr. Kissinger and former Pentagon spokeswoman under President Ronald Reagan; Senator Jim DeMint, Republican of South Carolina; and Gen. Jack Chain Jr., now retired, a former head of the Strategic Air Command. Mr. Cain also said he was fond of Representative Paul Ryan, the Wisconsin Republican who is chairman of the House Budget Committee.
My administration will have a majority of business people as well as some seasoned officeholders who are not afraid to challenge the status quo, said Mr. Cain, a former pizza executive and restaurant-industry lobbyist. Thats the main quality that I am looking for.
Another segment of the newspapers interview posted online on Monday showed Mr. Cain stumbling with awkward pauses through five minutes of questioning about whether or not he agreed with President Obamas Libya policy.

Better in most ways.
It is not going to work, knowing what Cain lacks, to start showing that he will make up for his lack of competent governmental knowledge, by hiring a bunch of experts who assumably do.
Ask President Palin how well that kind of projection worked out.
Bring in Bolton, and I don’t care if Cain can’t find Europe on a globe.
It’s a common question. They’ve all been asked. Perry was asked the other day. I think these are important questions to ask them. What in the heck is he supposed to do say, “sorry I can’t answer that question because PSYCHO-FREEP on FR thinks it means I’m picking out the drapes. But hey, I’m sure there’s a candidate it would be okay to ask that of.”

AKA. Lobbyists!
—by hiring a bunch of experts who assumably do.—
That’s basically the argument Henry Ford made when his family sued to find him incompetent.
He won.
A good leader doesn’t know everything, and he knows it. What he does do it acquire a good selection of advisory with whom he has a good relationship to help him then make the correct decisions. And a good leader is a quick study.
So far I have been extremely happy with Cain’s performance. If a person can only be elected if they demonstrate that they are a “jack of all trades, master of none” we are in for even a larger world of hurt.
This is fundamental. It is a core principle.
I guess now that the NYSlimes knows Cain will not do anything about public service unions Cain is now acceptable to the Marxists in the “elite” media.
I like military history and I seriously doubt all you need is a pizza salesman and a few experts to win a major engagement against a well trained, well prepared, competent enemy army. Just saying.
Wasn't it Einstein who questioned why he should fill his mind with useless facts when he could easily just look them up in a book?

I firmly agree. That is another thing I like about Cain. He’s not running for general and will probably leave military decisions to the generals that actually know what they are doing.
Even in my career a common phrase is “I don’t know everything, but I know where to find it if I need it.”
But you know that, don't you.
If I want to see those kinds of libtard smears I'd be listening the the LSM, I come here to get away from it.
Cain is a rocket scientist...literally and has a degree in mathematics. He also worked with the Navy. Being a corporate exec was just the fun part.
Paul Ryan and John Bolton...sounds like a winner to me..
....’You don’t have to know everything, you just have to know where to find it’....
His resume speaks for itself: Navy rocket scientist; computer Coca Cola systems analyst; Pillsbury VP of Corporate Data Systems & Services; business manager over 400 Burger Kings; CEO, owner of God Fathers Pizza; chairman, National Restaurant Association; Federal Reserve advisor; chairman, Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank; writer, public speaker, radio host, associate minister, faithful husband, and father.
Herman Cain has what it takes to lead a country.
And that’s why we have everything from the Joint Chiefs to grunts. Amazing how well that’s worked when the military actually gets to be in charge. Good advisers and experts in their fields can help a good decision maker make the best decision. There’s NO WAY, none that every candidate is an expert in everything. NONE. Not even Newt. Not everyone has perfect positions on everything. NONE. I don’t care whether you think he’s presidential material or not but don’t you think it’s a little condescending considering how successful he is? The man IS the American Dream and he puts a lie to all those rumors that a black man can’t get to the top in this country. The fact that he’s running and has gotten where he is through hard work should be a source of pride, not ridicule.
