Results from new poll of GOP primary voters from Democratic firm Public Policy Polling: Newt Gingrich (28 percent), Herman Cain (25 percent), Mitt Romney (18 percent), Rick Perry (6 percent), Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul (5 percent), Jon Huntsman (3 percent), Rick Santorum and Gary Johnson (1 percent).
One particularly interesting note from PPP: “There’s reason to think that if Cain continues to fade, Gingrich will continue to gain. Among Cain’s supporters 73 percent have a favorable opinion of Gingrich to only 21 percent with a negative one.”

The groundswell of anti-clinton feelings defeated democrats, and Noot almost prevented it with his “contract with America” nonsense.
As much as I personally like Cain, he is not qualified to be president. He is plain spoken, direct, engaging and charming. Those are wonderful qualities to have and even better to have them in a presidential candidate. However, he is way out of his league. Answering almost every question with 9-9-9 even to the point of bringing laughter from the audience (not in mockery) gives one pause. Deferring to Gingrich so Gingrich could answer questions directed to Cain first when they had their one on one debate is also very telling. I want an outsider, but a qualified outsider and Cain isn't it.
I think Cain's decline in the polls is not just due to the bimbos, but I think people are looking at him more seriously and finding him wanting.
Last, I am not at all interested in a national sales tax. It leaves me cold.
He also changed his belief when more data was given to him. Whom are you supporting with this circular firing squad? How is being a proud member of the CFS improving chances of ousting barry bassturd?

Cain has not declined at all, he’s doing fine.
He is the sole qualified candidate, since, as you stated, someone got to Palin.
Ginrich and Romney are vomit. So is Perry the cheerleader.
I don't know, the good news is we only need 270 Electoral votes. The bad news is we'll need to sweep the south, mid west,and few of the most northern states. Newt could be the medicine for America , but she'll need some sugar to help it all go down.

I’m a Gingrich supporter. But if you look at my postings on these cicular firing squad threads you will not that I have tried to be poitive on Cain, Bachmann, Perry, and even Santorum, because any one of those candidates would be more leader with more experience than barry bassturd. Watch the posting by longtime freepers whom you might have had respect for. When they toss out invectives and smear tactics and insult fellow freepers, all in the anme of supporting thier chosen candidate, well, Freerepublic is becoming a stinking pool of nasty commentary which reveals people trying to establish their candidate by default through chracter assassination of everyone else ... which works to re-elect the commie soiling the Oval Office. There is one Republiocand cadidate who is a true snake in the grass, Milt Rominy (rhymes with hominy, the huskless corn product). There is one candidate who may not be mentally stable enough to be CIC, Ron Paul. There is one candidate who is running for the nomination as an ego trip, Jon Huntsman. Assassinating the character of the rest serves the DNC. Period. And doing it in nasty, deceitful posting makes Freerepublic look, well, full of irrational spittlefools.
