Gingrich Leads in PPP Poll, Followed by Cain
The Corner ^ | 11/14/2011 | Katrina Trinko

Results from new poll of GOP primary voters from Democratic firm Public Policy Polling: Newt Gingrich (28 percent), Herman Cain (25 percent), Mitt Romney (18 percent), Rick Perry (6 percent), Michele Bachmann and Ron Paul (5 percent), Jon Huntsman (3 percent), Rick Santorum and Gary Johnson (1 percent).

One particularly interesting note from PPP: “There’s reason to think that if Cain continues to fade, Gingrich will continue to gain. Among Cain’s supporters 73 percent have a favorable opinion of Gingrich to only 21 percent with a negative one.”

The first drop you pointed out was when the scandal first erupted, but it was all anonymous sliming, no names, so Cain won a ‘pass’ and recovered.

The 2nd drop was when the women were dragged out in front of cameras.

The MSM is refusing to show (for the most part) the ‘voice analyzers’ that show with 95% accuracy that Cain is telling the truth, and the accusers lied to help their own candidate, by sinking Cain.

“The long of it is newt is really big on the lip service and ideals, but damn short of action.”

1. Balanced budget.

2. Contract with America.

Who accomplished more? (not talked more)

Newt did nothing to win back the House, he was just the undeserved beneficiary that made the win for naught with his support of the lame duck session in the late fall of ‘94 that passed the garbage that the people had voted the GOP in to defeat.

Thanks Noot.

Another thing....

That 2nd ‘peak’ of Cain’s marked the point where he debated one-on-one with Gingrich.

Its possible that some people changed from Cain to Newt as a result of that debate.

>> “He refuses to concede energy and the environment to the Dems.” <<

.
That is ludicrous!

Newt’s positions on energy and the environment are a dead match for the dems. What can he concede further?

The budget leveled off for a short while, the nataion debt just continued to grow. It was never balanced.

Newt is attempting to be realistic about the illegals here...I understand that...Most Politicians do..it’s just plain to late to send them all home...but few that are saying we just let them all stay either...there has to be a determining factor.

Newt has said time and again..”Enforce the laws we have for immigration”...and he is right. But what is to be done with the ones here who are illegal, who have raised families here etc. Well what are we going to do with them? There has to be a determination made by each case IMO.

Nations have a history of turning to old warriors in times of trouble even flawed ones. Newt could absolutely win against Obama. Obama is ripe.

The media had it’s circus with Newt on stating he abandoned his wife....which he did not. The media and democrates are ruthless and their expectations high when “life gets in the way” of anyone....but never once owe up to their ownshortcomings...never!

Amnesty is not something one can be clear about....explain yourself what that means. Does it mean the whole entire illegal population get off free? You tell us just what you see it as.

“We are not going to deport 11 million people,” Gingrich said .... “There has to be some zone between deportation and amnesty.”

Gingrich stressed that his target of establishing an entirely legal work force is ..”not a call for amnesty.”.. Rather, he said, ...”it’s about applying common sense to the immigration debacle.”

The story of American jobs and labor is deeply intertwined with predatory Federal, state and local taxation and regulation....

South Koreans sleep soundly on their border with NORKS because of American Taxpayer dollars and the American GI.

Why can’t Texans, New Mexicans, Arizonans and Californians?....BECAUSE

Illegal immigration is THE KEY to the perpetuation of the status quo in DC......

Predatory tax and regulatory policies-actions that basically serve to perpetuate and grow governments-leave what business is left in the country seeking disposable labor.

Illegal Labor is the Feds out for preserving the status quo regarding Taxes and Regulation. Interestingly, that is WHY the Feds encourage in-state tuition etc for illegals under-the-table -their presence providing disposable labor allows Federal, State and local regulatory and tax excess in the status quo to continue

Immigration is the ultimate litmus test as to the candidates in question commitment to meaningful regulatory and tax reform. If they are wishy-washy on the subject...they have no real intent to disturb the DC status quo...no matter how big their cowboy hat and six-gun.

Real ”leadership” is that which will place Flyover Country’s interest ahead of the Feds....haven’t yet seen anything meaningful anywhere from anybody to indicate that might happen. We have just one more election cycle to make that happen via rule of law. Otherwise its the end of the run for America.

>> “Newt Gingrich had a successful period as Speaker of the House of representatives in which he balanced the budget AND had a surplus. During that time, the surplus went against whatever deficit there was, so he can also legitimately claim to have lowered the deficit.” <<

.
That is about as false of a statement that can possibly be made.

Noot’s “surplus” used excess SS payroll receipts to hide spending, and also ignored debt service payments that were financed by further debt.

No reduction of debt occured.

Brits voted Churchill in when desparate, then threw him out after he saved their necks.

Do you think America is smart enough today, to grasp how DESPARATE we ought to feel? Half pay no income tax, feel no esparation; too many on the dole.

No insider is qualified to be president.

Only Cain is qualified out of the current crop of swindlers.

Understood...but then again it doesn’t seem to change the equation from what it remains to be...a political question and one which is used in every election cycle.

Newt very much understands the issue of border control and the governments responsibility about that...until that is addressed even those deported not only recycle thru...but use the system by getting caught for a free vacation air-trip home...then they come back in.

I want the border not just secured...but closed and the mess cleaned up...at the same time enforcement of our current laws and ...but I have doubts any of this will ever come about..it is most frustrating.

The article is not dated so I have to look further into this...but just for the record I am not for amnesty...but cannot see any program on either side of the aisle workable without closing the border and clearing out the repeated offenders....what we do with the 11 million here illegally will remain IMO an unsolvable issue because no politician has the courage to just send them all home...that just isn’t going to happen and based on what other posters here have informed us of. So if not...then what?
