On 'SNL,' Penn State scandal offends even Satan

NEW YORK (AP) — On "Saturday Night Live," even the devil was offended by the Penn State child sex abuse scandal.

"SNL" cast member Jason Sudeikis reprised his role as Satan, appearing with red horns and pitchfork. The devil was informed by "Weekend Update" host Seth Meyers of sex charges against a former defensive coordinator and allegations that university officials failed to report the abuse.

Even he was disturbed by the news. Addressing Penn State students who protested football coach Joe Paterno's firing, the devil spoke directly into the camera, asking, "Do you know how bad that made you look?"

Disgusted by the scandal, the devil says, "Evil isn't what it used to be."

Paterno supposedly told Sandusky he wasn't going to be his successor in 1999. Sandusky then "retired", but was given an office with full campus perks plus a pension.

Why did Paterno make this choice back then? It was right after the investigation was finished in 1998. Just seems convienent that Joe knew.

There have stories about Sandusky being seen around the team with young boys after the 2002 incident, did he believe his friend was innocent and McQuery was lying. If so why would he have hired McQuery if he believed that the man would spread viscious rumours about one of his best friends?

The best explanation is Paterno is senile, otherwise it smells to high heaven.

Exactly, not just homosexuality but sexual deviancy of all stripes.

Are you aware of Spanier’s support and rumored participation in sexual perversions?

I find it odd that on free republic of all places, students are condemned for rioting against pedophiles, queers, and media whores.

The students exceeded my expectations, and they should be awarded medals.

I know it is hard for Petrano defenders to grasp but ALL of them are guilty.

Now, a 28 yr old grad student (former football player) comes to you and tells you that he saw a boy being assaulted in the shower by your former Defensive Cord. and you do what?

First, any NORMAL person would ask the Grad student, 'why didn't you stop it'?

Next, 'where is the boy'?

Third, 'why didn't you contact the police'?

None of these questions seem to have entered into Petrano's head.

That you think I am chiding you for your grammar is laughable. Seriously.

"WE ARE PENN STATE"??? ...... Speak for yourself

I am not Penn State.
Get it?
Believe me the world does not revolve around your college.

Paterno was told the next day.

And he promoted that same Grad student who witnessed an attack and did nothing to stop it.

Now, according to you and your fellow Paterno apologists, Paterno did enough by allowing a child rapist continue to walk the campus because he had 'passed it on'.

If it had been Paterno's grandchild, I think he would have done a bit more then just report it to the AD

Well then you ought to be ashamed of your school because of it's agenda.

You ought to be ashamed of those who the school is graduating who allow child rapists to continue to rape and those who cover it up.

If you can't be ashamed, then you simply are beyond having shame.

No, it simply the REALITY of the situation, rather then try to blur it by stating it is the homosexual agenda.

You are no different then any liberal who wants to ignore the actual criminal and focus on the social issues.

I agree.

This whole thing/case is very troubling and disturbing. I’m shocked. Appalled. And I am a Penn State alum and I won’t allow the media or anyone else to make me a “victim” or dictate how I deal with this I supported the football players yesterday, cheered the team, and it doesn’t take away from the situation or the victims. It doesn’t matter how anyone dealt with it or thought it should be dealt with.

The players, the students, the alunni did nothing wrong. They shouldn’t be held responsible for the acts of a few and the coverup of others and the homo agenda or the media’s take on it all.

I don’t understand it either. I can sorta see it from the janitors viewpoint...WTH and how is this gonna affect me and my livihood (sp). Cos that;s what some of this is about.

I totally dont understand McQueary’s situation. How can you see this and walk away? I don’t get that. He did a good thing reporting it, but how do you see that and just leave, walk away. Is this what we are teaching, becoming? How can he, anyone, see that and just walk away without trying to rescue the kid. And to go on for almost 10 years. I dont get it. I also don’t get how this was allowed to continue. When a few people knew and still allowed it to continue.

They are all responsible in some way.

We are all responsible in some way.

I’m trying to imagine it all and put the pieces together,

But like 9/11 this is somewhat similar to that, in my

mimd.Like anything...we won’t be defeated by this.

I will be apalled if Paterno knew any of this.

Anyone could have called the cops at anytime.

I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around it all.

But I won’t allow the media to dictate this.

What the outcome be different?

Sandusky continued to rape for 10 years after, yes the outcome would have been different.

The hypothetical I've stated on other threads, imagine if McQueery had come to see Paterno on a weekend and said, "Hey Coach, I was at the athletic building late last night and saw some guy spray-painting "Paterno Sux" on your office door."

Paterno would have asked why he didn't intervene at the time, or why he didn't at least call the police there and then.

It further seems inconceivable that the two men would have then done nothing for another day 'til Paterno decided to inform the VP and AD.

I would suggest that a far more likely scenario is that Paterno would have picked up the phone, called the police who would have taken a statement from McQueery, then moved earth and heaven to review surveillance video, building access entry codes, etc. before the end of the weekend.

The only reason anyone would hate Penn State is because it is filled with pedophiles and those who defend them.

If it comes out that Paterno knew and covered up, I will be shocked and I will apologize to you.

Paterno knew that sexual activity was seen between a boy and his former Def. coach.

That is a FACT.

So, stop pretending that he didn't know, he knew and didn't CARE.

If the people above you don’t take care of it, you have to take it on again.

That needs to be chiseled in a big stone somewhere. I've had people tell me, on much less serious matters, "they'd take care of it." When they didn't, I had to try again with harsher tactics.
