Any parents of young teenage girls want to offer advice on how to raise their daughters when this kind of stuff is all over the radio, and is the rage among these kids?

I'd caution that these lyrics aren't appropriate for kids, except they probably already know them.
You need to do some research. It’s out there. Big articles on this recently - within last few months. I’m not going to do your legwork for you. I have to stay plugged into this stuff. The studies were essentially about promiscuity and drug use.
P.S. Find me anything from 40 years ago that would equate with a 2 Live Crew or some of the stuff out today. Seriously. I think you are way off on this one. Also, while there may be a few songs here and there from 40 years ago, today there are hundreds and hundreds.

Just stay strong and always explain your reasons. My son was smart so he knew mom was telling him the truth.
We have a 20 year old, a 15 year old and a four year old and have not had a TV in the house since just before the oldest was born.
The reason we do not have a TV is not because of the content of TV shows, but because format of a TV broadcast is not conducive to developing learning skills.
As a family we do read a great deal and have hundreds of gigabytes of music. That music collection has music of mine, my wife and the kids.
I have never censored their music as I trust that I have taught them right from wrong and good from bad.
Therefore, when they listen to a classic rock song that deals with satan, drugs, violence, murder or having sex with one’s mother, I know that they will understand that it is just art and something they should emulate.
When they listen to country music that deals with infidelity, drugs, murder, drinking, gambling, satan or sex, I know that they can handle the content.
And there is no subject matter that you will find in Rap or Hip-Hop that you will not find in country music or classic rock.
The American Association of Pediatrics has studied this topic and other media consumption. Google “American Association of Pediatrics Media Music”, that should get you to some research reports.
We should stick to trying to win the battle of ideas.

Well, the problem is not necessarily the subject matter, since the whole thing you brought up with the Doors has been broached by Shakespeare and in the Greek tragedies even before him. As it has been said, “There is nothing new under the sun.” The problem is in the presentation.
I simply do not understand how you cannot acknowledge that it is much worse today and there is far more of it. It is foolishness to act as if this is not so. I remember listening to rock in the 70s and we had our stuff. I remember Nazareth “Now you’re messing with a Son of a B...” and so on. I agree with you about giving our children good morals and helping them to make smart choices is the best, but parents will always protect their children and sometimes that takes the form of censoring things from their lives.

While the style of music has changed since the days of classic rock, the content of the songs has remained the same.
Read the lyrics of Led Zeppelin, the Doors, ACDC, Aerosmith, Kansas, Rolling Stones, etc, etc.
There were bands active in the 70’s and 80’s that glorified Satan!
Rap and Hip Hop are not my thing, but I understand that if our kids are intelligent and we raise them right, they will be able to deal with popular art forms.

You just made my point. We are talking about 40 years ago, so I was really cutting it off well before the groups you are naming. As for the Doors, I’m not sure when they came out with certain songs. I know they were at Woodstock, of course, which pre-dates the 70s.
I also agree that some of the bands glorified Satan, ala Black Sabbath, but the fact remains that there is far, far more of it. You can name a few bands, but the major top hits of the 60’s and even into most of the 70’s were pretty mild and bland. Just the fact that nowadays they have to have a clean version for radio play is a clear example of how far it’s gone.
I have no issues with any style or type of music, per se, but there is no doubt that certain styles tend to want to reach a specific target audience and those styles tend to be the offenders.
P.S. Have you heard the song Superman? Do you even know what it means to say “Superman that Ho?” I have to know this stuff so that when I talk to kids they know that I’m aware of what goes on. They can’t pull stuff over on me.
Here are the lyrics and I forgot the name but it’s not superman: Excuse me for putting this on here, but I really think people need to know what the kids listen to. I’ve seen kids go crazy when someone played this song.
If you don’t know what it means, I’ll be happy to email you privately. Seriously, if you think this even compares with 99 percent of what came out even by the Stones, et al., then I think you just don’t know what’s out there. Your kids might be good, but I’m in the schools. I don’t want kids to even be exposed to this rotting filth!
