Opinion: The Case for Newt (and against Herman)
Jewish Journal ^ | 11/11/2011 | Sammy Levine

By now it is abundantly clear that Newt Gingrich is the best debater among the Republican Presidential Candidates. Some of Newt’s critics will grudgingly acquiesce to this fact, but still brush the legitimacy of the Gingrich candidacy aside, noting that he is an unserious candidate. However, Newt’s magnificent debating skills, his unmatched knowledge of American and political history, his tremendous command of the issues and his eloquent oratory skills should not be taken lightly

I will vote for Cain in the NH primary.

If I must, I will hold my nose and vote for Newt in the general election.

But, I am certain sure that Newt will lose to 0bama, regardless of his debating skill or his scholarship.

People are not voting for 0bamao because of those things.

I still believe Cain has the best shot against 0bama0. Instead of 98% of the Black folk voting for 0bama0 against any white man, with Cain as the Republican nominee, that ratio could drop as low as 85% or less of the Black Americans voting for 0bama0.

That Cain could garner as much as 20% of the Black vote could make THE difference in the election.

Even more, it might pull a lot of Black Americans off the DemonRAT plantation and set them free from DemonRAT politics of envy and division.

Gingrich was Speaker of the House for four years (1994-98),....an executive job

Not true.

Looks like he's already ahead of the curve............

False.

Currently Newt has pledged to issue a series of.. "Executive" Orders.. to create jobs and help undo the damage of the Obama administration on the first day of his administration....and the plans for carrying these out:

Oh goody, let's see how consequential...

1. Eliminate the thirty-nine White House "Czar" positions created during the current administration

Whoopee. He has the option not to hire them.

2. "Mexico City Policy" of Respect for Life.

And you don't see that for the "harmonization" that it is? Gad what a fool you are. What authority does he have to cite foreign law? What Constitutional authority does he have to institute policies pursuant to foreign law???

3. Restore conscience clause protections for Healthcare Workers.

The Federal government never had that legitimate authority. What he is doing here is therefore unconstitutional. He should instead direct the Feds to stay out of issues of conscience citing same.

That shows him for the Statist he is. You see, ends don't justify means.

4. Respect Each Sovereign Nation’s Choice of its Capital.

Wow, like that's a top priority compared to rescinding Carter's EO banning nuclear fuel reprocessing (which made the waste mess), or EO 12986 exempting members of the IUCN from civil liability (which allows them to manipulate Federal agencies at will with environmental lawsuits). What you have shown me here is that Newt is a globalist autocrat (as if I didn't already know that) and holds little regard for Constitutional limitations on the office of President, not exactly a selling point with conservatives.

Where did I say I have ever voted for a democrat? I haven’t ever. Is this another “probably” assumption on your part?

Your responses reveal you’ve not informed yourself...curt responses are just that. ...stating something “Not True” or “False” doesn’t refute the facts...

And “Ohh goody” and “Woopee” ...reveals only an emotional response...as well as name calling anyone a “fool”. None of which qualifies as even the traditional “dime a dozen” opinions which are at least interesting to hear.

Then to top it all off arrogance surfaces which truly reveals further communication is fruitless and not worth..”the dime”.

On that note a good time to end this discussion for it leads nowhere fast now.

Your responses reveal you’ve not informed yourself..

Having written and published more original and thoroughly researched and documented articles here than most any other FReeper, along with two books dealing intimately with regulatory government and envrionmental/econcomic policy, I don't have to prove to you that I've done my research. You had only to look at my FR page to find the links but were too lazy to do even that.

“Not True” or “False” doesn’t refute the facts...

You were just repeating your false and unsupported assertions. Managing the legislative process as Speaker is not in any way similar to administrative experience. Why should I bother with any more?

On that note a good time to end this discussion for it leads nowhere fast now.

Good riddance shill.

I am so tired of the race card. Would love to win because the candidate is American...not because he is black, asian, white or even hispanic ..but because he or she is the best person for the job. I do like Newt and have watched every debate and compared the answers...I cant compromise..he is my man. NOW..IF Ltc West of Fla was running that would be another story. I do not like the 999 or the 909 plan or the enterprise zoness, empowerment or opportunity zone plan that Cain proposes but sadly, even Newt supports a 10 yr plan in Detroit. I do not like the federal govt diverting OUR tax money to urban inner cities...they (the ones living there) created the mess...it was man made. It is a type of bailout imo. I wonder if it is even constitutional to take money from taxpayers and favor another “area” over the rest. How many hand ups or hand outs are needed?

Or Cain...who didn’t know if Pakistan was our friend or foe?

Does anyone know? Like Newt said 'it's a fractured country'.

None of us know if the Pakis are friends or foes; we should assume they are foes until proven otherwise. Should we vote for the Newt who stood with Nancy Pelosi on man-made global warming?
Newt was a fine legislator and is a fine author. That’s it.

You never stated why or what you didnt like about the plan...or which plan it was..tried to educate and inform you and pass the info on..now you are not interested. Was not trying to persuade you either way..just to show you the details.

Yes, we do know they are our foes and we do know that China has nukes. Newt explained about the pose over and over...hope someone doesnt dig up old photos of Cain and Beasley of Rainbow Push Coalition or of Cain and his liberal friend from Nebraska that he donated to after he joined the gop. Would be nice to post around the forum. Anyway his wife, Gloria is a democrat and votes for the Obamas, Clintons and Gores of the world.

Nor am I about to take the time to do so, but for starters, a mere $1000 fine that the government can wave against Federally mandated benefits that wildly exceed that amount MONTHLY is amnesty, all protestations to the contrary. It was a fraud perpetrated against the American taxpayer to claim otherwise.

See how easy that is? I'm not going to bother with more.

It is not amnesty..they do not obtain citizenship...how hard is that to grasp? they go to the back of the line..speed reading gets you misinformation

> I am so tired of the race card.

We all are, but it’s a fact of life with the Black community. Given the choice, they will vote Black regardless of the issues.

If both candidates are Black, then they are more likely to focus on the issues. Just 10 or 15% of the Black vote could make a big difference in an election.

As for Newt, smart guy, but a Beltway Insider. Still believes in AGW, too, though he says he wouldn’t tax us for it. Frankly, I don’t believe him.

Upon committing a crime that the law requires entails deportation, they get to stay and become citizens collecting benefits the whole time, "line," or not.

Pretending otherwise while not acknowledging long term consequences attendant to policy IS misinformation.

Moreover, to offer a “path to citizenship” to illegals, believing that these people will vote Republican, when during their their entire education they have been told that a Mexican reconquista is justified, when Democrats will ALWAYS outbid Republicans with entitlements, affirmative action, and looking the other way at their crimes is so delusional as to constitute a betrayal.

Cain has too much political baggage.

Newt has plenty of baggage of his own. Doubtful you'd ever find a candidate that didn't have some sort of "baggage".

OK, so which Newt are you going to get?

He has been as all over the place as Romney.

For global warming. For carbon tax, against both.

For mandatory health insurance, against it.

I like to hear him debate. He knows his history and he is harp as a tack, but he needs to be a consultant to the president in some position where he can bring up earth shaking ideas but where someone above him with common sense picks the good ideas and discards the not so good.

As for experience, I repeat. You saw the debate in SC. On the subject of Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, China and Israel every single one of them had a different idea as to how to handle them and the only person with enough common sense to admit that it was not that easy was Cain.

Cain realizes that until the nominee gets the briefing that only comes at that stage that bragging about how you would fix the problem is nothing but BS.

For instance, some of the experts on that stage suggested a blockade to back up sanctions, most but not all of which are worthless without some sort of enforcement.

So what will we do when a Chinese or Russian ship decides to force its way through the blockade?

Torpedo it?

Our founders did not design our government around professional politicians. They foresaw people like Herman Cain serving for one or two terms and then going home.

Every single one of our problems today can be traced to a violation of the terms of the constitution.

For instance, the scandals surrounding the present administration as well as the last several, could not have occurred if our pols were one termers, we had no federal income tax and no lobbyists.

Nor would gunwalker have occurred had this government protect our borders from invaders as the Constitution requires that they do.

And if our government had respect for the Second Amendment and was not trying to use the Mexican problem to restrict our constitutional rights to own guns, which in the end will be determined to be the real issue.

Anyway, Newt did a good job in the 1990’s, but it is a lack of knowledge that gives him full credit. He had a lot of people working with him and a few guiding him. And that is when he is at his best.
