By now it is abundantly clear that Newt Gingrich is the best debater among the Republican Presidential Candidates. Some of Newts critics will grudgingly acquiesce to this fact, but still brush the legitimacy of the Gingrich candidacy aside, noting that he is an unserious candidate. However, Newts magnificent debating skills, his unmatched knowledge of American and political history, his tremendous command of the issues and his eloquent oratory skills should not be taken lightly

She could at least pretend to be Republican. Maybe she belongs to the tiny pro-life,pro-marriage, pro-Constitution Democrat wing?
and I am sure there is noone in your family that has any skeletons in their closet...glad you are skipping my posts as you are the one that is a nasty person. You like the democrat for first lady that is your mistake and choice
who are they? LOL and where are they? they don’t exist
We have Texas Democrats for Life. I spoke at their convention one year, they had a hundred or so present and their speaker was the then President of DFL. He got an earful about their treatment at their Dem conventions.
She’s not running for office. When she begins to interject herself into politics and our lives like the first bitch then it becomes an issue but until then it is not. Cain has made it clear, he is running for the office and he makes the decisions, not his wife.
You can stand on the corner and kiss ass for Newt all you want; it is your privilege to be as stupid as you care to be. A lot of us aren’t supporting the go-along-get-along bipartisan compromisers who have brought the country and the Constitution to the brink anymore. When Newt isn’t the nominee don’t do anything rash.
I am not a Newt supporter, but I would pay to watch a debate betweenb Newt and Obama ... that would be fine theater!
Obviously the 'Right of Return' is important to you. To me, it is some plan by a foreign government to deal with a problem and I believe that the US government should not intervene. What else do I have to know?
The Neo-conservative movement? What is that? Doss it have something to do with the governance of our country? I don't know what it is.
And Mr. Cain not answering 'defined benefits' disqualifies him? You know, overseas I go to a Doctor or Dentist, I have work done, and I pay him. It works quite well. I don't know about defined benefits either and frannkly I don't give a fig.
Our country is being taken from us and you want to debate the color and ugliness factor of the guns being used. What effect do these items you mention have on the USA? Will anybody care in 20 years? I don't care now.
Look, I posted an article by a jewish man that expressed his thoughts..some I agree with and others I don’t. I don’t like Cain’s 999 or 909 plan; his enterprise plan; the fact is wife is a democrat and I don’t believe he would make the best commander in chief. That is why I do not support him.
We live in very dangerous times and Israel may or may not strike Iran. I don’t know. Israel is our strongest allie in a dangerous part of the country. Whoever is in charge needs to be aware of such matters.
Politicalmom: Don’t think I attacked anyone. I did say that some would be likely to take very aggressive exception to any opinion other than their own. And, often, they seem not to be very modest about the sensibility of their opinion.
Clearly, that is fact—not an (untrue) attack.
However, your instruction (below) about being a member for a longer period of time before I start “attacking” is noted. And, of course, disregarded as being inapplicable to my comments:
“Its really considered bad form to join FR and start attacking FReepers a day later.”
I do see in your ensuing post to katididit1 that what you say below is allowable, and, presumably, proper etiquette to respond to those with whom you disagree—you are a poster of greater longevity, no doubt.
You said:
“Youre a nasty, vile piece of work. Im already skipping all your posts, and I certainly wont be reading any more bile you post to me, either.
Ill take a classy, quiet, loyal, unassuming wife and mother, Democrat or not, over a fake, grasping, adulterous homewrecker any day.”
Whew! If that constitutes civil discourse, I think I will converse with others—who share a reasonable likeness to the word.
Unlike you...I have never voted for a democrat in my life and do not intend to. I believe Newt is the best man for the job and if you (being such a class act) disagree that is fine by me. Whoever wins the gop nomination will have my vote...period. In the meantime I believe America has the opportunity to elect a great president and that is Newt. You can keep with the name calling...it doesnt bother me. It wont change my mind and unlike YOU...if Cain loses the nomination..you will need a chill pill. I will vote republican...straight down the line.
Thank you JimInMO. If I said “Cain had on a ugly tie” hate to see what the reaction would be...lol.
Actually, he was asked 'defined benefits plan' OR 'premium support'? While he was formulating his response, he said Newt, you go first. All Cain was doing was gathering his thoughts and letting Newt go first while he did so.
Or he just decided not to get sidetracked into answering a question that he thought would pigeonhole him.
That's actually pretty astute politics.
Please don’t use that term out of the blue like that. FLOTUS will do.
FR used to be a place adults could talk and we wouldn’t see “cuss words” very often at all. Even the euphemisms were rare, and even during the Clinton years.
It’s just as dumb to say Newt should be supported merely because he’s a great debate as to say Perry should not be supported merely because he’s a poor debater.
You know who is going to change their vote based on the presidential debates?
Exactly no one.
This is a dead-end street.
Do you honestly believe that voters will make up their minds about whether to re-elect Obama or vote for the GOP nominee based on the type of incidents you have listed here?
“Gawd, I hate what Obama has done to the country and if we don’t get someone else in there, the economy will go off a cliff and the country will be ruined. But 14 months ago GOP nominee Cain didn’t know what a neo-con was, just dayum! I mean, I don’t know what a neo-con is, nor do I care, but he sure as hell should have known! Guess I’ll just have to stay home or vote for that corrupt and dangerous Marxist, Obama. Obama has got to be better than someone who doesn’t even know what a neo-con is.”
Thank you!
And anyone who places any credence whatsoever on the opinion of Tucker Carlson is not going to impress me, that’s for sure.
Just curious: were you of an age and inclination that you were paying attention to politics during the Clinton years?
