It's said that there are several thousand people. That's from the folks on the webcam.
There are a lot of people there, but I don't know how many are looky-loos.
He's no doubt planning for a cushy job in the Obama administration after this farce is over.
Interesting info. I didn’t know a thing about Portland’s politics.
Thanks!
I’m coming to Portland tomorrow on business. Fortunately NOT downtown.
6:45 a.m.: The crowd’s dispersing. Lownsdale Square is all but empty except for chest-high mounds of debris. Chapman Square is still packed with people and tents.
6:42 a.m.: Madison Dines, 25, a Portland State University engineering student, says this morning’s movement was made up of dedicated Occupy Portland protesters. Not drug addicts or hangers-on.
“This has regalvanized our movement,” he says.
He also says members of the protest pushed out the man who threw the projectile from the crowd so police could arrest him. They don’t want to be associated with violence, he says.
“Of course we pushed that person out there. We don’t want to antagonize police.”
He says the movement’s focus has been on keeping the parks “We won,” Dines said. “We were evicted and now we’re staying.”
I’m late to this thread because last night I was too busy celebrating Oregon beating Stanford to worry about protestors in Weird (in their minds) Portland. I am currently in Maryland, so the party was pretty late.
I grew up in Eugene, adult years there in the ‘70’s until I had to leave the state in 1981, when the jobs situation in much of Oregon was as bad, or worse, than now. I knew many of the early generation of black hat anarchists and earth first activist types who lived in Eugene or spent a lot of time there.
Have you heard anything about the crowd from the Eugene area showing up in Portland? They would be the types who would come for the action with the police.
When the recall(s) failed, I figured that the people of Portland must approve of his homo pedophile behavior. Anyway, it’s good that he won’t be around much longer.
The pederast mayor is being interviewed, now. What a simpering wimp.
The protesters gave him a round of applause after the interview....Pathetic.
The mayor being an activist homophile, I think this is a very real possibility.
what is that thing they are unloading right now?
.
Could be. Time will tell.
Riot gears must be just a fashion statement in Portland.
A light/generator, if we’re looking at the same thing that is.
oh, okay, thanks!
Oops...For a second there I thought I was Maxine Waters.
The Mayor said early on that he supported the protesters. It appears likely that this hasn’t changed.
The police chief was just interviewed, said he is very proud of his force. I’m wondering what “policing” means to this traitor?
Looks like the free lunch crowd...
I think the board of health should shut them down.
:) I hear ya!
As well as a whimpering simp :-(
