A last-ditch drive ends in disappointment for Penn State, which loses to Nebraska, 17-14. Not having any timeouts crippled the offense, which completed two passes short of a first down, including one with seconds left, but couldn't stop the clock.
This is a different Saturday in State College. Immediately after McGloin's final pass fell incomplete, the Penn State crowd cheered the team's effort: the cheering grew to a roar as the two teams again met a midfield, such as they did right before the game.
Again, as occurred several times during the game, there were chants of "We love JoePa." Interviewed after the game, interim coach Tom Bradley said that what Penn State has gone through over the last week is "unprecedented in the history of college sports."

Sorry I didn’t make my point clearer. Wearing school colors means they are supporting the school. They should do something contrary to that to show support for the victims.
Exactly, it was an empty gesture.
He wasn’t a witness (or was he?) so what good would that have done?
“to the care of others thru sports, school, church, etc.”
Yup
In loco parentis.
Hence these JoePa chants arent just in support of him; theyre to spite the administration, the media, and the world.
Well stated. I was at the game today and spoke with a lot of PSU fans, and I would agree that this is the consensus. I also thought it was a nice affair...very classy on the part of the Nebraska and PSU players and fans in attendance. I'm sure the media was quite disappointed by that.
Burn it down.
Swallow your damned pride and admit that your institution is corrupt to the core.
Do you feel that way about the United States because of our idiot / corrupt political ruling class? Or do you still identify as an American and remain proud of your country?
By the way, earlier in the thread I noticed you stated that "BTW, his mother and uncle are Penn State grads." Where did you happen to go to school? And, I assume "his mother" is still your wife, so what's her take? Just curious...
I am divorced from my son's mother. She is a 1990 graduate of Penn State. I am a 1985 graduate of Mount Allison University. My ex agrees that a future PSU degree is likely to be tainted by reputation.
"Burn it [Penn State] down."
Hmmm...thanks for the context.
Now feel free to answer my other question - are you ashamed to be an American due to our (often) stupid politicians? Feel the need to "burn it down"?
A stupid analogy since you're a blind PSU supporter, but hey, I'll play.
If a civil war against Obama began tomorrow, I'd gladly be a fat 48 year old piece of cannon fodder.
Have a good night, and thanks for playing.
Joe, don’t miss my meaning. A state or a state university does not share the guilt of a community of evil men. But be sure that evil cannot be compromised with. What happened at PSU can only be mortified by decisive and uncompromising resolve. I am an American and have served side by side with fine and honorable folks from PA. I would stand against my LSU in a heartbeat if what happened there occurred in Baton Rouge. Hell I would have had a hard time not killing the bastard if I had caught him doing what Mcreary saw. Pretty cut and dry to me.
You apologists are pathetic. And before you attack me, look at my alma mater. Not a scent of scandal.
You people who defend land grant institutions crack me up
Replying to you was a waste of time.
In 158:
Maybe America should be shut-down or nuked into oblivion because of our dear leaders in power now. Definitely all olympians should be ashamed for competing for America.
Makes about the same amount of sense as what some are posting here.
You people who defend land grant institutions crack me up
I think I get the irrationality now. Having an ex-wife who went to Penn State and living in Columbus has made you bitter towards Penn State and schools like it.
It seems like a silly thing to hitch one's wagon.
Next season, cheer against Ohio State, Notre Dame and Penn State.
What do you expect people to say when you post so irrationally?
At least you have an excuse and aren’t just crazy.
