Go Penn State!
Yeah!! Way to go with that whole "Eff the kids,it's all about football" thing...
I went to the Penn State facebook page, and either no student has read any of the Grand Jury's report,or they are so stupefied and imbued by the glowing halo of Paterno that they can't think for themselves. REALLY???
You have a guy that actually SEES the RAPE of a 10-year-old CHILD by a serial pedophile and chooses to WALK AWAY??? And the student reaction to such a horrendous act is to RIOT in the STREETS when the one person with power and influence simply does NOTHING,and is FIRED due to his lack of action?I couldn't get over some of the comments on facebook about this..."WE ARE PENN STATE!" "We will overcome this (stumble in the bushes).." Blah-blah-blah.
They act like this was a single act of a single person and we should just get over it because it's all about FOOTBALL.
Yeah,i'd be REAL proud of an institution that sees no problem whatsoever with covering up the wholesale sexual abuse of innocent children, and deifying those who could have put a stop to it by standing up and doing the right thing, but instead turned a blind eye to it for years.
Something is seriously wrong with you.

If PSU was a "great community", they wouldn't all be focused on a football game today. Thank you!
Excellent response. Your entire post is well thought out and well said.

At least some advertisers, like Cars.com pulled their ads from the game.

Sandusky was out shopping at Penn States local Dicks Sporting Goods earlier this week... no joke. I dont think he plans on killing himself anytime soon.Doesn't Dick's Sporting sell guns?

Then what explains a Ted Bundy or a Jeffery Dahmer?
The way they were raised.Check out the backgrounds of some of the most vicious and craven serial murderers and pedophiles and it's not hard to understand why they went the way they did. They came from dysfunctional families.

I hope you realize today is their last game....there is no way that those games in Columbus and Madison will go on......I suspect there will be a lot of people there, ready to give PSU a rude welcome, and they won’t necessarily be OSU or Wisky fans.

Almost 30 years ago, the NCAA shut down SMUs football program for two years for paying players. If Penn State doesnt deserve the death penalty for protecting a serial child rapist, I dont know who does. As a sports columnist in Minneapolis put it, what SMU did (compared to PSU) is the equivalent of spitting on a sidewalk. I remember that entire episode very well, having moved to Texas a few years prior to this happening. The NCAA clearly had it in for Texas Governor Bill Clements, the first Republican governor since the reconstruction era. The SMU payments weren't right but the over-the-top death penalty of the program was aimed squarely at our Conservative governor who was chairman of the board of governors at Southern Methodist.

âTo say that IÂm proud of Penn State is not to say that I agree with everything that happens here. âItÂs an American university with all the flaws of one.â Really? You jest! Pedophilia in all American schools. Is it worse than we thought?

Good for them...I understand other sponsors pulled their ads as well. If ESPN had a shred of integrity, their crew would have spent Friday packing away their cameras, microphones and cables. The fact the game is airing speaks volumes about the network’s priorities.

Nah...he loves himself too much for that.Besides, why kill yourself when you can victimize some more innocent kids before you head to court for a slap on the wrist?

“Something is seriously wrong with you.”
Actually nothing is “wrong’ with him. In a previous post in this thread he ID’s himself as an employee of PSU. He’s saying what he is as he knows who butters his bread. If I were him I’d be concerned about the coming avalanche of lawsuits that will hit his workplace. Those multimillion dollar settlements won’t pay for themselves - watch for layoffs.

Al Capones parents were hard-working law-abiding Italian immigrants. While I will agree upbringing can be a factor it’s not a blanket excuse or reason for dysfunctional behavior and quite frankly I’m sick and tired of hearing as an excuse. It’s perpetrators clog the court system and it’s victims fill cemeteries

Please, it’s you who are being stupid. As I said, I’m sick and tired of the ‘’upbringing excuse’’. Neither one of my parents wee alcoholics but I was. Once.

That may or may not be true-but there must have been something in him as a child that was completely missed by his parents. Maybe they were so hard working that they missed it.Maybe they liked the money that Al brought in from his various criminal activities.Times were very difficult then for everyone-but mostly for immigrants who wanted only to be a part of the American landscape.
As for excuses being made for criminals,I couldn't agree with you more. I was just answering the question you put out earlier. The sickos and weirdos are either ridiculed by siblings and/or parents, brought up with abusive,drug-addicted parents or just simply ignored or treated as a pain rather than a gift. But you are quite correct-these people need to be punished, absolutely.

These kids so deserve a win today. Oh? They DESERVE a win today? On what possible grounds? Why do you make that statement?
