Is Newt Gingrich the Real Deal?
Townhall ^

Posted on 11/12/2011 8:54:58 AM PST by Java4Jay

Drawing on his wealth of knowledge and years of experience in Congress, Gingrich adeptly understands the most trying issues of our time. His ability to answer complex questions and innovative solutions is emboldening his candidacy. After Rick Perry’s incapacitating gaffe – and Herman Cain’s demoralizing public relations blunders – Gingrich has emerged, for now, as the anti-Romney candidate.

We aren’t talking about Newt’s personal baggage, we are talking about his POLITICAL baggage.

That is the problem. Newt’s record is one of picking political expediency over Conservative principals every single time.

Here’s the deal with Newt

Newt is an incredibly intelligent guy and knows how to accompish things... but being smart, and being a leader are too very different things.

Newt knows the in’s and out’s of how to accompish a goal far better than anyone on that stage, but knowing how to accompish a goal is far different than setting the goals.

In other words Newt is the kind of guy a good leader uses to implement his agenda.

I believe Cain to be that leader, and Cain should pick Newt as his VP to help him implement his vision.

He sounds soooo good when he speaks. His criticism of the government is on target and his ideas for fixing things are often brilliant.

I want to trust him, but I can't get to the point of trusting IN him.

If all of the candidates were on stage and I had never heard or seen any of them and knew nothing of their past, Newt would get my vote. But, he has been all over the place on issues I care about and there's that "global warming thing".

Think of Newt on the Campaign trail Talking about GAO,OMB, GDP etc will never be able to connect to the average voter.Compared to Sarah like going with the flow is for dead fish. You need someone who can connect with people and the only one in the race now is Cain.

He’s not the real deal. He’s the consummate insider. He’s part of what’s wrong with Washington. He’s savvy enough to say what his audience wants to hear or savvy enough to say what will get him elected...but that’s about the extent of it.

Tell me, exactly what is the difference between Gingrich and Cain? Do you even know 3 things for certain? Please list them for us.

You supplied no video, only an opinion from Newsmax. Watch these videos of Newt’s response, it’s current and up to date, not something taken out of context many years ago.

Heard the same things about McCain all over here in 2008.

Kept hearing how it was going to be so great to "see the war hero debate the kid".

How did that work out for us?

I am not voting for Cain because I don’t believe he’s qualified to be President.

The difference between Gingrich and Cain is that Gingrich is qualified to be President.

Newt became a Catholic three years ago and was forgiven for all his past transgressions. That includes the nasty divorces and everything else he did that was dispicable. I have noticed Newt’s demeanor since his became Catholic and he is more humble and hardly ever get riled. I think becoming a Catholic was the greatest thing that ever happened to him. Conservatives will vote for Newt. They absolutely will not enthusistically support the liberal Romney. And how can they, he’s as liberal as Obama.

[Kept hearing how it was going to be so great to “see the war hero debate the kid”.]

You certainly did not hear that from me! I tried my best to warn the desperadoes here about McCain and I was severely ripped for it. I was talking from actual experience, from my Brothers in arms on information that “hero” McCain handed over to the enemy.

No video necessary, just some INCONVENIENT facts will do:

“Social engineering from the right is also bad”
“Medicare withering on the vine”
“We are not going to deport 11 million people”

For healthcare mandates before he is against it!
For man made global warming before he is against it!

3 marriages all in ONE life time, with adultery thrown in!
Newt has more recorded votes in congress than all except Ron Paul,
and will be thoroughly dissected & bisected by MSM.

That’s the sad but simple truth. I am sure that Gingrich would make an adequate President and be a whole Universe away from what we have in the Oval Office currently.

But we both know how this rotten Media we have, FOX included, will destroy all chances he might have. And here we go again, with the “Lesser of evils” mantra.
