Newt wouldn't be my choice but I would hold my breath again and vote for him in the general election. But not Romney. Hopefully, Newt's election would be accompanied by a lot of conservative Congress people who would hold his feet to the fire and not let him act on RINO impulses.
No. His record is clear. He is a great talker, and very smart, but he is completely lacking in principles. He will do anything to stay in power. He has shown this repeatedly.
A little better than Romney, but not much.
Would he make a good VP? Maybe, but remember what happened under Bush. Cheney was a great VP, but too old and too ill to run for President after Bush left. So, Bush basically left us with nothing and nobody to run in 2008. At this point, we need to start grooming future Presidents.

The video from Meet the Press where Gingrich praises the Individual Mandate in Obama Care is from May 2011, not “many years ago”.
Every one of the folks running has "baggage". In Newt's case, it's time to let it go - it doesn't necessarily affect his political decisions. The same can't be said for Romney, Huntsman, etc.
If someone wants to support Gingrich because he is smart, that is fine.
But if someone now supports Gingrich because they abandoned Cain because of the lying allegations ... that doesn't even make sense.
Why would you dump someone over nothing more than allegations... and then as an alternative pick someone who has actually done far worse for real?
think this through people.
even if Cain had sexually harassed women... is that somehow worse than cheating on, not one wife, but two ... cheating as in actual sex? not just telling someone they are the same height as their wife, or using not explictedly sexual yet sexually harnessing hand gestures?

confirmed multiple adulterous sexual relationships?
The most Newt is going to accomplish is to pull enough votes away from Cain to allow Romney to win. He may then get the VP nod, and then we will have a president and VP who know how to play the Washington establishment game. It’s a sad possibility, one I hope fails.
Real good historian? Absolutely.
Real smart? Most of the time (except when sitting on couches)
Real consistent? No.
Real Presidential? You decide, but I think we can do better.
And worse. Newt would probably “grow into the job” and lose some of his less desirable attributes much as others have done. He would be infinitely better than what we now have, but I happen to think his present upswing will be a temporary thing and he will not win any primaries.
Please do not let Gingrich get anywhere near the White House. He talks a good conservative game but he is Obama The Sequel at heart. This joker is beyond dangerous.

No he is not the real deal. He is high in intellect and low in judgment, but most of all, he is all in for Newt. I don’t trust him at all.
We have a divided government with nothing getting done to prevent our Nation’s collapse. I feel our government gave away the store long ago and it will take many years to reverse the current trend in Washington. Can Newt bridge the gap? We can’t have it all in one dramatic step.

We can retire the national debt by charging admission to Newt/Obama debates.
Obama has no credibility pointing to anyone else as responsible for today’s economy.
Newt is exactly the guy to ensure Obama’s “chickens come home to roost”.
We cannot afford another President who merely slows the rate of decline but doesn't actually fix the structural problems.
Our Government is in fiscal crisis now, that must be dealt with now.
Merely delaying the collapse, as Gingrich plans, is not a serious option for us.

No. He’s a dedicated “reach across the aisle” politician. He has basically said don’t worry guys, if I’m elected, things will stay the same.
