Sam Stellatella, a three-position player in the 1950s for Penn State, is trying to raise funds for Jerry Sandusky's legal defense.
Stellatella has donated money and has urged other former players to do the same.
"I told him he's going to need a million dollars to defend himself," the 73-year-old Stellatella told the Associated Press. "He called me back and said, `What am I going to do with this money?' I said, `Use it for your lawyer because you're going to need it.'"

Silence = consent.
He must be a real rapscallion
You must mean Paterno. He did do something. He reported it. To whom would be the person(s) to also go after because Sandusky should have been charged at that time.
The school’s administrators, Sandusky and Paterno should all be in court, IMO
I agree with you. the OJ case was the worst prosecuted case I can imagine. Two theories of what happened and you present them both to the jury? “Either he came in the front door of his house and did thus and such OR he came in the back door of his house and did thus and such...........” It was a travesty. I wonder what that dumb prosecutor Marcia whatever her ineffectual name was is doing now.
I hope Nebraska utterly annihilates PSU today.
It didn’t matter. The case was lost when they moved the venue to an “OJ Friendly” neighborhood.
Good to see the victims treated to a nice candlelight vigil while the homosexual rapist is defended with cold hard cash from the alumni...
Yeah. I'll just bet those "alum" and other "rich donors" ARE raising money for him. They're running scared.
Jerry Sandusky Investigated For Allegedly Pimping Boys To Rich Donors

Or "who" she's doing now. Wasn't there a rumour that she was having a torrid affair with another lawyer, Christopher Darden?
Cheers!
Supposedly, Paterno was fixated on Bear Bryant’s death so soon after he retired as Alabama’s football coach. AL had a mandatory retirement age requirement, so Bryant wasn’t nearly as old as Paterno.
There’s a thread this morning on a surprisingly positive NYT piece re PA Gov. Corbett, a Republican, handling of the Sandusky case beginning in 2009 when Corbett was AG. It seems that it was only by accident we even know what happened. From the NYT article:
“On Friday, the governor finally got the word. The grand jury indictment had been filed under seal, but because of a computer glitch it had mistakenly been made public. Soon Mr. Corbetts office was inundated with calls.”
I wonder why the Media is so much against Joe Paterno?Joe must be a liberal like Bill Clinton.
Well stated and totally correct. I have long maintained that this type of criminal should be locked away forever. They cannot be cured or rehabilitated. They will always be a danger to Society. That the Criminal injustice system is more worried about being “fair” to the Sanduskys of the world with no regard for the victims must be stopped. Lock away the hardened violennt criminals forever and you reduce crime by precipitously.
LOL! bttt
Paterno is the one who reported this crap and no one did anything about it.
Why is the news so much about this guy and not about the school administrators who did nothing and Sandusky who raped?
.
NOTE Graham Spanier was fired from the PS president's job........but he and his wife are still on the PS payroll as profs. Hmmmmmm.....looks like ol' Graham used "leverage" to stay on the payroll. Betcha wife-swappin' gay lovin' Graham has some mighty interesting stories to tell.
========================================
Ex-PS president Graham Spanier's activities at Penn State (see more below) answers the one question on everyones mindhow did Sandusky got free rein in the PS showers with young boys?
Did Spanier participate, as well? He certainly had an obsession with pederasty and moved hell and high water to give gay sex a foothold in PS.
---------------------------------------------------------
MUST READ REFERENCE Paterno is getting the most attention, but FREEPER PA BOOKENDS posted this WRT Graham Spanier, the President who was also fired.
Spaniers degrees are in sociology with a chosen emphasis on human sexuality wife swapping, adolescent sex, etc. Spanier asserted he wanted to make PSU the most LGBT-friendly school in the country. Spanier's sponsorship gave Penn State the first gay fraternity in the nation. Under Spaniers leadership, Penn State sponsored the Tent of Consent - all about gay sex, as well as C*ntfest (shocker).
Now, shortly after his arrival, Spanier tried to get rid of the legendary Paterno. Why? The football program was bringing in tons of money. Paterno was (and remained) one of the LOWEST paid college coaches in the country. M/M Paterno donated millions to the University. Spanier lost the battle, but one has to ask: why was Spanier so eager to get rid of Joe??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It becomes clearer and clearer why Spanier was out to ditch Paterno-Spanier had to remove any and all obstacles in his path to solidifying Penn State as a protected pedophilia haven for Sandusky (and whoever else was involved in these heinous activities).
Turns out he didn't have to remove Paterno in order to solidify PSU as a protected pekophilia haven.
The Harrisburg Patriot has an excellent chronology of this creep’s history at Penn State in yesterday’s paper. How could Paterno not ask (nor apparently care) what type of inappropriate behavior his top aide was engaging in? How could the 28-year old coach (a big guy who had broke up a knife fight) not beat the tar out of Sandusky when he saw him raping a 10-year old boy or at least put an immediate halt to it?? Instead, he told his father???? In 2002, the wrestling coach saw this creep lying on top of a young boy, face to face, after hours in the PS gyn on a wrestling mat - where is the campus police report? And yet this perp still lives next to an elementary school and was seen working out in the PSU gym as late as last week (I wouldn’t want to use the same dirtied equipment as the creep). Penn State is going to find out the real cost of ignoring (and I’ll bet, hiding) this story and the cost has been light so far; the smart ones are the young recruits like the top HS football recruit in the State of Colorado who told them yesterday he would not be attending PSU next year nor playing football there as he had committed. That’s the least of their “rewards” for what looks like truly evil conduct in passing on unforgivable acts.
