FWIW, Cinco de Mayo is as much of an American holiday as it is a Mexican one. I read up on the history just earlier this year.

Check out the Battle of Puebla and its commemoration.

The ignorant Peas of Sh!t judge doesn’t realize that the American flag is JUST as important to that day as is the Mexican one.

Should public school officials have the right...

...to pervert Jefferson's intended purpose for public education...

...into a Marxist mechanism for destroying America from within?

No - obviously that would be an error...

"...that truth is great and will prevail if left to herself, that she is the proper and sufficient antagonist to error, and has nothing to fear from the conflict, unless by human interposition disarmed of her natural weapons, free argument and debate, errors ceasing to be dangerous when it is permitted freely to contradict them. Our problem is that a majority of CA people believe in such rulings as this from their almighty federal judges. People in CA just can’t figure out things any more.

insanity .. sounds like the court has infringed upon the children’s right to express their right to free speech in the form of wearing a shirt proclaiming their proud heritage.

“.....If they want to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, then they can go back to Mexico.........”

Funny thing is - Cinco de Mayo is not a National Holiday in Mexico. Only a small town - and of course the Mexicans in America.

Is this federal judge from Ciudad Juarez or Mexico City?

Ten years from now, Mexico will no longer exist as a unified country. The government will have collapsed and the tribal leaders and the drug lords will be fighting over bits of the remains.

That’s OK, it’s difficult for English speakers to spell those foreign words. We should do like the French and insist that all those foreign words be translated into our language or at least transliterate it into San Ha-seen-toe.

Schools do need special authority to guide and protect kids. You’re right about that, but the justification for this ban is that those celebrating a foreign affiliation might do students harm if the American flag is depicted on any clothing, on a particular day. That’s intimidation and bullying by any reasonable measure. Would the district court or the school apply similar logic to students who wished to express “Gay Pride”, environmental awareness, or African Heritage? We know they would not. Such favored status is only “granted”, as Thomas Sowell says, to “mascot” groups. When the state favors an illegitimate foreign holiday over a rendering of its own flag...it’s trouble.
