A Blistering Reality Check on Newt Gingrich
The Right Scoop ^ | November 11, 2011

Posted on 11/11/2011 2:46:45 PM PST by Southnsoul

Business Insider has published a blistering reminder of who Newt Gingrich is and why you shouldn’t vote for him. No, they aren’t vying for a specific candidate like Romney. In fact that’s exactly what this author wants to avoid:

http://www.businessinsider.com/conservatives-please-stop-the-insanity-newt-gingrich-is-horrible-2011-11

Conservatives in the GOP are desperate to avoid a Mitt Romney nomination. Mitt’s just a bad show all around.

And so conservatives have given Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, and Herman Cain a ride up and down the polls. And now this agony is causing conservative voters to lurch to Newt Gingrich.

This would be a horrible mistake.

“But,” you’ll say, “he has ideas!”

Of course he does. Newt Gingrich has all the admirable qualities of an autodidact. He’s energetic and occasionally lobs a challenge at weak intellectual orthodoxy.

Unfortunately, he has all the horrible qualities of an autodidact:a tyrannical streak and an egomania that is impervious to the reality of other people.

And, yes, Newt Gingrich always has ideas. He has 5-point plans for fixing everything. He’s constantly pitching these “solutions.” Ever wonder why Newt Gingrich has so many ideas?

It’s pretty simple. Ideas come to you easily when you have no principles to get in the way of your roaming untrained intellect. So what are some of the ideas Newt Gingrich has promoted? Are they even conservative ideas?

He promoted the return of the Fairness Doctrine.

He was for a federal individual health-care mandate, the lynchpin of ObamaCare.

He was practically spooning Nancy Pelosi in commercials about the need for government action on global warming.

He supports green energy projects [Solyndras] and farm-subsidies.

Even as late as this year he was pitching for more government intervention in the health-care system at the progressive Brookings Institution.

How is Gingrich an improvement on Mitt Romney?

Yes, it’s probably better for us to continue to search for the perfect person and in the meantime we can continue with Obama. After all, what can go wrong if he gets four more years?

There are 2 candidates for which I would have to hold my nose to vote: Newt and Romney.

However, if that becomes the necessary, I’ll do it.

ANYBODY BUT OBAMMA!

I like Newt,,, I would vote for him (or Romney or Cain or anyone ) besides Obama.

Those not voting because they don’t like the GOP nominee, will just allow Obama to be re-elected. The economy here will not sustain another 4 years of Obama.

The knives are coming out every few aticles now here at FR by the backers or the lobbyist/pizza guy.

It’s clear they feel threatened now. Look at the panic ensuing.

Me too!

I'd love a ticket with Cain and Gingrich on it.

It would give the whole campaign an attitude.

Something sorely lacking right now.

Ah yes, another late ‘08 sign-on pops up to do as much damage as possible. Does axelgreasy actually pay you freaks, or do you work to destroy the Republic for the fun of it? Name one damned democrat whom you would vote for over Newt Gingrich. ... Nominee by default is not a conservative strategy, troll.

I learned over the last few years to not trust anything coming out of “The Business Insider”.

They may “report” on business matters, but they are a Liberal outfit.

I would expect anything their writers have to say about anything in politics to have someone’s agenda behind it; some Liberal’s agenda behind it.

Am I making a preference for Newt?

No. I am making a preference for forming political views in favor of Conservatives from Conservative sources and Conservative values; not Liberal rags.

Any number of “right” reasons to want someone other than Newt for POTUS; can be found from any number of places. The Business Insider is not one of them.
