Go Nebraska!

One of my pet peeves: to call what happened before today’s game with Penn “a moment of silence” is just more worshiping the god of Political Correctness.

FDR’s radio broadcast to the nation regarding the 1945 D Day invasion was not a moment of silence, it was a prayer to Almighty God and he used those words!!!

That broadcast, quite recent in our history, stands as yet another clear benchmark by which to measure how far we have been pushed and fallen as a nation.

If Ron Brown led it I can guarantee it wasn’t a “moment of silence”. lol.

I was so glad for the comments Bo Pelini made after the game, saying over and over again that football is nothing compared to the lives and well-being of these kids. He said he didn’t think the game should even have been played but that since it was played he was really glad they had the prayer together. I’m not sure, but I think the Nebraska people asked to be able to have that. I know Pelini said both coaches signed off on having it so that was good.

He said his son is 12. I just about had to cry, thinking about that too, because my daughter will be 12 in another month. I work with kids that age every day; they totally look up to the adults who work with them. The kids Sandusky wanted to “help” are the same kind of kids I try to help every day, and the last thing they need is to have their trust violated like that. I pray for those boys and their families.
