A majority of voters in the three most-important swing states of Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania disapprove of the job President Barack Obama is doing and most believe he does not deserve to be reelected.
The voters most-favored Republican: Mitt Romney, who is statistically tied in theoretical matchups with Obama. Only in Florida, though, does Romney show a lead against Obama by 45-42 percent split.
"Of these three swing states President Obama carried in 2008, Florida was the biggest surprise and had the closest margin," Pollster Peter A. Brown said in a written statement. "Florida is shaping up to be the closest swing state again in 2012 and its a fair bet that a year from now, it will be the toughest of the Big Three for Obama to carry."
Florida has 29 Electoral College votes more than 10 percent of the total needed to win. Without carrying Florida, Republicans will likely lose the race for the White House because the larger states of New York and California lean so heavily Democratic.
Though Romney does best against Obama, he probably wouldnt face him if the election were held today and confined to the big three swing states.
The poll shows that Florida Republican voters favor Herman Cain over Romney by a 27-21 percent split. Newt Gingrich is in third with 17 percent. Cain also leads Romney in Ohio, with Gingrich in third. The two are tied in Pennsylvania at 17 percent each, with Gingrich tying for third with former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.

They expect us to believe one second Obama does not deserve re election and then that only brillo cream can beat him barely? This is propaganda. There are too many Obama loses to generic GOP polls to believe Obama is even this high of a %.
I like Newt as well. He’s smart as heck.
Luckily we’re still a year out and we have time to get firm candidates and get Huntsman and Romney and Santorum outta there. They are taking up needless space. We’ll see what happens...
What a media setup. The debate is held in a university (full of, as the DNC fondly refer to as their little democrats), the eternal poll show Romney wins, the media totes Romney, and continues the charade against Cain.
Mark my words. Cain will get stronger and strong and will win the Presidency.
The only good thing about Romney is he maybe the only one now to knock Obama out but the bad part of it is that we get Obama Lite.
Well said!!
Bingo!!
NEWT 2012, warts and all our BEST choice, I like Herman Cain but NEWT has what we need at this time.
GINGRICH / DeMINT 2012
That is exactly why I am parting with some of my hard earned dollars. I figure in the long run, it may save me a lot. That is if it not too late to prevent total collapse of country.
Melissa-
Cain-You had me at the singing
This article sounds like it is part of the denial/anger/bargaining model. The MSM attempted to oust Cain with false accusations (anger) and that didn’t work. Now they’ve moved on to bargaining; attempting to tell us why Romney is the one we want.
Yeah.....sounds like the National Democrat Party Playbook, alright....
"Is there any REAL difference between the Enemedia and the DNC?"
likewise......Who? Is saying that?...
(CR@P!)
I don't believe these polls reflect reality.
There is nothing ‘good’ about Mutt Romney. His entire worthless liberal life is a total waste of anything he has ever ate or drank.
Toxic waste dumps and burned-out homes in the slums of Detroit are both smarter, and have more value, than Mutt Romney.
Worms, slugs, and sewer rats are repulsed by, and look down upon Mutt Romney.
Every sane American citizen knows that the shame of his family, and the evilness of his supporters, are an unbearable burden to bear.
1. GOP establishment is primarily looking out for themselves.
2. Tea Party has many factions, some of which are also in it for themselves.
3. Cain is not as conservative as he could (or should) be.
Wrong title...it should be ‘GOP prefers Romney, everyone else for Cain”
Don't you believe it!
We have not seen a contest between a socialist and a conservative in a long time, and the LMSM will do everything they can to avoid that scenario.
If we do have a conservative running against Obama, you may expect a landslide victory for the conservative.
On the other hand, if we get a RINO, we lose.
Rather unlikely, as Obama does much better in Obama vs. Cain polling than in Obama vs. Romney polling in a variety of state polls from a variety of polling organizations.
T party is not asking Cain to drop out, one half ass self elected person is.
You know nothing about Herman Cain if you think that. Suggest you find out for yourself, not let media talking heads tell you what to think about him. Your statement about Cain is nonsense.
