Tea party leader calls for Cain to drop out
The Daily Caller ^ | 10/10/2011 | CJ Ciaramella

The leader of a tea party group is calling for scandal-embroiled GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain to drop out of the race.

Judson Phillips, the founding leader of Tea Party Nation, said Cain’s flailing response to sexual harassment allegations brought forward by several women was simply unacceptable.

“Herman Cain has got to go,” Judson said in an email to Tea Party Nation members. “I do not believe Cain’s accusers. There are too many questions about them. The allegations are not why Cain should leave. The campaign’s response is why he should now withdraw.”

I thought the Tea Party Nation was a group of libs that are trying to hijack the Tea Party name. If I remember correctly, here in AZ we have some group calling themselves the Tea Party Nation but in the 2010 eletions, they were promoting all of the wrong people. Someone please correct me if I’m mistaken.

A subsequent convention was booked for the following July, postponed until October, and ultimately cancelled. On July 18, 2011 the Venetian Casino Resort filed suit for unpaid bills allegedly totaling $642,144. [20].."

True. Equally true: Phillips promised to refund the $399 paid by each of the potential attendees and DIDN'T. Not much of a guy to give credence to.

Sounds like a typical fair weather friend. This is something the democrats would say, we don’t believe the allegations but
he has to go because of them. Is this going to be some new kind of tactic thrown out there whenever it suits the purpose? I don’t know if Cain did what is alleged but I am willing to stand by him until something is proven or until he himself makes an admission of guilt. The game of politics is a dirty rotten game and running at the first sign of trouble is playing into the hands of the opposition. You seem to be allowing the other side to dictate the terms of the fight and they are succeeding. They would never abandon one of their own and that’s why they keep winning. Republicans don’t have the stomach for the fight. Rush Sean and Levin are the only ones with enough kahonees to tell the democrats where to get off. This struggle will not be won by the meek and humble by those who want Dirty air, Dirty water and a Dirty environment. We have let them pin these labels as well as many others on us without calling them the abject liars that they are.............What the hells wrong with us?

So this Judson guy does not find the females accusing Cain of sexual impropriety believable, but Cain should now step down. Then if someone makes spurious claims against Judson, he should step down from his position as a Tea Party leader. (I thought the Tea Party wasn’t supposed to have leaders.) Hey, Judson, you might be guilty of some crime. I don’t have any evidence, but step down anyway because the accusation is serious. Sheesh.

Although I support the idea of the ‘Tea Party’, who/what died and made them/him the spokesman for everyone? Maybe the Tea Party needs to get whacked as much as anyone else. Unless you can put a head on the wall, don’t brag about how good a shot you are.

The Tea Party has a leader?????

There is a guy and his wife that own a gun shop in my area.

I stop and shop there and it's usually there that I find out about up coming TEA party rallies and he has a donation jar on the counter for signage that they put up along the roads.

I usually kick in a $10 or 20 and they are always grateful.

He and his wife work very hard in organizing the rallies but he would never claim to be the "leader".

Last year they had Herman Cain speak and it was a great day.

At the time I was a Sarah guy, but I liked what Herman had to say and said to my wife that he'd make a good VP for Sarah.

Opppss.

Oh NO!!! That was me who MISTAKENLY posted that. There is a scammy org named "Americans for Hermann Cain" which was outed in the Washington Times.

I mixed up the two. "Friends of Herman Cain" is legitimate and is officially associated with the campaign.

I will be sending a donation myself to a site sponsored by FRIENDS of Herman Cain. I'm so sorry.

This is exactly what the media is trying to make happen. Sarah could not do her job because of all the false allegations she was dealing with, so she resigned so that the business of state could go forward. That was all it took for the majority of them to shut up. They are hoping that deluging Cain with all these allegations will cause him to lose focus or drop out. Thanks to Ann Coulter, we know that there is a money trail to follow here and that someone(s) was purposely looking for anything on Cain, and the more the merrier. I wonder if money was offered for women to come forward? I’d bet so.

"Tea Party Nation is NOT the Tea Party movement...it's a liberal spin-off.

It's subterfuge with a liberal twist...ignore this bastard.

The real TPM is wise enough to see through the game that the libs are playing; they tried the same thing with Sarah Palin and it didn't work on her popularity.

Obama's ploy - since running for Illinois Senate - has been to try and destroy his most threatening opponent, which is exactly what is going on here.

These women who are coming forward are in the same catagory as the 'ho' who accused the Duke LaCrosse players of rape...it's about defamation of character, lies, and money.

Please see my reply to SueRae at #111. I made a BIG mistake and mixed up “Americans for Herman Cain” (NOT affiliated with the campaign) with “FRIENDS of Herman Cain” which IS affiliated with the campaign.

“The girl I am dating said that even if the accusations are
false too much damage has been done to Cain.”

I optmistically believe that today is the day that this way of thinking just became so yesterday.

It can happen. Cain can do it.

Sure there are a load of idiots out there who can not think for themselves. But as the stakes get higher, more and more of them will be no longer inclined to follow the media led heard to our nation’s destruction.

:: this is the other “narrative” and cliche that swells in the media are promoting. The “response” was somehow poor. ::

What the “swells in the media” are actually saying, Cain didn’t respond the way they wanted him to respond. Afterall, politics is the sole purview of the media.
