Unasked Questions at Herman Cain's Press Conference
National Review Online ^ | 11-08-11 | Jim Geraghty

Herman Cain has completed his press conference… which could have used questions like, “Did you rent or upgrade a hotel suite during the time period in question? If you did, why did you rent a luxury suite in a hotel in a city where you lived at the time?”

SNIP

Other questions that were not asked:

“When former colleagues ask you for help in finding a job, do you often take them to dinner, just the two of you?”

No. The bar for a public figure to sue is very high.

You have to prove a knowing untruth was printed or broadcast. The media is free to say stuff about you that you don’t like.

If you don’t want your private life to be an open book, there’s a solution. Don’t run for public office.

I won’t disparage Mr Cain, but the longer this drags out, the longer it distracts from the real issues and our entire field.

A lawyer quite familiar with such cases says settlements in those amounts were relatively small which is associated with nuisance cases. So I totally reject your take on it.

Just comparing apples and oranges. ..

A nearby county just settled a sex abuse/harassment case against their sheriff. 15 former inmates got $13.5 million. This is in the heart of hardtimes, Oklahoma.

Cain’s “victims” seem to have settled awfully cheap.

Or the records can’t be obtained.

What hotel keeps guest check-in records for 14 years? And any legitimate hotel won’t release this information without a warrant. They keep that data pretty secure.

Agreed, but stand by for incoming...

There seems to be a different set of rules for when Clinton had bimbo eruptions (not acceptable on FR) and when Cain does (acceptable, obviously the women are all wh*res). More and more, Cain seems to be a combination of Obama and Clinton—he’s not shy about pulling the race card against a fellow Republican, and he seems to have “women problems.” Plus, he can’t seem to get his stories straight.

I am appalled! Simply, incredibly appalled at some people who claim to be conservative.

We have collectively over the past 4+ years watched the demon-cratic party, inclusive of the non-rev wright, eric holder, bill ayers (will not use cap letters for these as$hats), rom Dead Fish and how many other WTF people, doing and saying the most vile and evil stuff right in our face while we knew they were lies...yet when obvious allegations are brought up against a man who afronts true values, we can dump him so quickly without support.

WTF...do we want "Just Easy"? It ain't easy, guys...this is a fight. If you are so willing to dump Cain because the machine is coming down on him, get the eff' out of my fighting hole. Connect the dots, folks...stay the course. It's our country at stake here.

This entire stinkin' business comes back to ONE basic question:

WHERE were all of these 'accusers' and 'victims' when Herman Cain was polling single digits at the bottom of the GOP pile?

[crickets chirping]

Suddenly, Herman Cain is surging to the TOP, overshadowing Mitt-Witt RinoRomney, and just like a stampede of door crashers at a local Wal-Mart trying to win 'early bird' prizes, the accusers suddenly 'remember' or 'want to speak out' or (the nauseating time-dishonored) 'speak truth to power'.

I'll tell you people one thing: I believe Herman Cain, and I believe he is innocent, and I would have absolutely no worries or concerns if he were to personally take my wife, daughter, or any female member of my family to dinner, to a convention, or to CHURCH (lest we forget that Herman Cain is an associate pastor at his church in Atlanta).

He’s obviously done something out of line, or he wouldn’t have had two employment claims against him

What a bunch of hooey.

Every accuser thus far has motives or blemishes to discredit them.

Oh, please, by all means, ask that I be “deleted.” I can save some money every month, just so everyone you encounter will walk lockstep with your beliefs. Sheesh. You can’t bear for someone to hold a different opinion from you, can you?

Of course it is coordinated. This attack on Cain has been rolled out like a well planned military operation. Unfortunately for the left wing a-holes behind this, they expected to get to fight Burnside and they tied into U.S. Grant instead.

But that aside, why would he be willing to kill the entire GOP for his ego? He’s obviously done something out of line, or he wouldn’t have had two employment claims against him (no, not every boss even in the 1990s had this). He needs to address this matter, which he has constantly managed to avoid doing. But in his mind it’s all about him. I think it’s all about getting a conservative candidate with smarts. He’s clearly not the one

Think about it...he's a staunch conservative working for a DC political lobby. What are the odds that the organization is going to have a lot of hateful liberals in it who are going to hate Cain because of his conservatism?

Many of these liberals are also very racist so lets not forget to factor that in. They accuse us because of course they are!

Clarence Thomas anyone?

Tom Robinson, anyone?

Not even Atticus Finch could talk sense into these media dogs, many of whom are black themselves.

Everybody can have an opinion ~ i frankly don't care. But you are claiming as "facts" things for which there is NO EVIDENCE.

It's not so bad that you do that ~ lots of people do that ~ but you keep doing it on the same issue even when you've been shown there is NO EVIDENCE.
