Sharon Bialek is learning firsthand why the other three women who have accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment may have resisted going fully public with their claims.
The Chicago-area woman, whose name and face was broadcast all over American television Monday as she described being groped 14 years ago by the Republican presidential hopeful, has a past. And after making herself the first – and as of yet, the only – accuser whose name has been made public, that past is being dug up.
“Who is Sharon Bialek?” is the subject line of the latest email from Cain’s presidential campaign, which has struggled for the last week to deliver a consistent and convincing response to the harassment allegations.
“As Ms. Sharon Bialek has placed herself in the public spotlight through making patently false allegations against Herman Cain, it is only fair to compare her track record alongside Mr. Cain’s,” the email says.
The email lists six court cases in which Bialek’s name appears as a defendant, and states that Bialek filed for bankruptcy in 1991 and 2001. It also cites TV news reports that Bialek was sued “over a paternity matter” in 1999 and that she “has worked for nine employers over the last 17 years.”
“The questions should be – who is financing her legal team, have any media agreed to pay for her story, and has she been offered employment for taking these actions?” the email concludes.
Cain campaign spokesman J.D. Gordon defended the tactic.

And that would be a good example of the (oft mislabeled) logical fallacy: “begging the question”.
To accuse Cain of “blaming the victim” would be to assume that the woman is actually a victim. Meanwhile, it hasn't been established that she's anything but a liar, attempting to victimize Cain.
(I know, I know — it's naive on my part to even suggest that logic has anything at all to do with politics.)

This is ridiculous. This is a fine man who’s being railroaded by a liberal establishment who’s terrified of him. They know damn well he’s electable.
He’s defending himself powerfully, and I believe this will only make him stronger.

I like that Cain is doing a good job standing up to this, but I don't like that he defended Mitt Romney.
This is exactly what has happened and the bonus is that it also has conservatives going at each others throats on this issue, doing the dirty work that Obama would have to do if it weren't for those on our side of the aisle doing his work for him. Conservatives really ought to be ashamed of themselves for allowing Obama and his paid cronies to manipulate them so easily in this manner. If Cain goes down and Perry should rise in the polls as a result will become the next target. I wouldn't be surprised then to learn that some fag anonymously accuses Perry of being a closet homosexual and the media starts in on him.
It wouldn't be beyond the pale. Think about what is happening here people. Don't be Obamas unwitting suckers. I'm reminded of the old saying that a house divided against itself can not stand.
