Penn State abuse scandal engulfing revered Paterno
Last Updated: 21 minutes ago
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Every Tuesday during the fall, Joe Paterno ambles into the media room at Beaver Stadium, settles into his seat and holds court.
The octogenarian coach usually doles out some one-liners along with the injury updates.
This Tuesday's press conference isn't likely to resemble any other in Paterno's 46-year tenure at Penn State.
Paterno will be asked about what he knew and when about his former defensive coordinator and one-time heir apparent Jerry Sandusky, who was indicted on charges of sexually abusing eight boys over 15 years.
Authorities have said that Paterno, who testified in the grand jury proceedings that led to the charges, is not a target of the investigation. But the state police commissioner has chastised him and other school officials for not doing enough to try to stop the suspected abuse.

What's the difference between Penn State and the state pen? In the shower, not much.

from the article...
“The school issued a statement Monday night reminding media that the main focus of this week’s press conference was Saturday’s Senior Day game with Nebraska.”
They sure are tone-deaf aren’t they?

Paterno can be very ‘short’ with reporters when he’s asked a question he doesn’t like. PSU has released a statement that this press conference will be focused solely on this week’s game versus Nebraska. That’s not going to wash. Paterno had better begin with a prepared statement on the Sandusky-scandal or things will get ugly fast. Paterno’s weekly call-in radio program is impossible to listen to because of his short fuse.

I read that the Sanduskys had adopted eight kids over the years...one can't help wondering how many were boys, and at what ages they were adopted. Don't have a good feelign about any of this..Lots of livs are about to be ruined..and in piublic..
BTW..anyone seen a pic of Mrs. Sandusky anywheres?

Our rotted corrupt cultural marxist elite will white wash this. The church is one thing but this story cuts deep into the homo cult that is an apex cult for the satanic Left.

Paterno can be very short with reporters when hes asked a question he doesnt like. When asked football questions that's fine.
But when you find out in 2002 that a Graduate Assistant has seen your Assistant Coach diddling a boy in the shower and you do nothing "no comment" is a little weak.

This is bizarre:
The Penn State Creamery as yanked the “Sandusky Blitz” from their list of ice cream flavors. It was named for Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky
It was still listed on the creamerys website on Sunday and described as a banana flavored ice cream with chocolate covered peanuts and a caramel swirl.
Yikes!

But when you find out in 2002 that a Graduate Assistant has seen your Assistant Coach diddling a boy in the shower and you do nothing "no comment" is a little weak. The DA in 1998 had Sandusky on tape admitting to a mother that he had been 'showering' with her son. They all knew for years. They all enabled him to keep raping. They all watched for years as he brought little boys into and out of the showers at odd hours. The guys that cleaned the showers watched.

I heard that Paterno reported the incident up the chain of command. Does that absolve him?

The sports media is not going to let this disappear. The MSM might, although I doubt it since even my local stations were carrying coverage of this, but the sports media will not let this die. ESPN is pushing it, although they are pushing an Alabama-LSU rematch as their top story, but
Sports Illustrated is letting Penn State have it with both barrels:
Yahoo Sports is reporting that Sandusky visited the football weight room multiple times last week. If that can be verified, Paterno is finished.

If Sandusky was still walking around Penn State years later, then it should have been clear to Paterno that nothing was done. It's being reported that Sandusky was using Penn State football facilities last week.
Paterno has I think 15 grandchildren. As a grandfather, he has a moral obligation to see that this puke was in jail, not still walking around freely years later.
