Alec Baldwin isn’t afraid to let his anti-Republican ideals surface from time to time.
On his new radio show (yes, he’s been given a show), “Here’s the Thing,” Baldwin decided to take some jabs at Ronald Reagan — a man who, like Baldwin, got his start in acting.
Baldwin didn’t go easy on Reagan either. “He was a failed actor who in my business what happens is you become ripe and you fall from that tree and you go — and he went into this other field because it was a role for him to play,” he said.
But he wasn’t done there. While chatting with GOP political strategist Ed Rollins, he continued. “Reagan seduced a whole generation of Americans into believing, you should have what you want more than they [the underprivileged] should have what they need, and don’t feel guilty about it,” Baldwin said. Rollins, of course, politely disagreed with Baldwin’s assessment.

I really loathe Alec Baldwin. I have to admit, however, that he is a fair actor. AFAIK, he made the only movie ever made from a James Lee Burke novel; Baldwin played the role of New Iberia Deputy Sheriff Dave Robicheaux.
He might have been a failed actor but he is not best known for getting b@tch slapped to fat @ss by a pork chop.

You know what? Baldwin’s stuck on stupid, but I will give him this much: Reagan wasn’t born to be the greatest actor. He was born to be a great President!

When I think about Alex Baldwin, I remember what he said to his daughter: “You’ve made me feel like a fool over and over and over again. I’m gonna straighten your a - - out when I see you, do you understand me?”
Frankly, I avoid movies that have known liberal actors, especially the ones with 5th grade educations that think they need to be involved in politics. I once saw a list of the education that most top rating actors/actresses had and most didn’t finish high school. Many didn’t even get to high school, but they think they have some god given ability and power in politics, but it’s just money seeking the path of least resistance.
Baldwin thought He was a super star after The Hunt for Red October, He was going to be Clancys Jack Ryan and Clancy was going to pay big time.

How can you “fail” at something that ANYONE can do. Anyone.
Especially at the pedestrian level of the talentless Baldwin.
There was also a straight-to-DVD movie made of In the Electric Mist with Confederate Dead with Tommy Lee Jones as Robicheaux.
IMHO, neither one comes close to capturing Burke, my second-favorite author after Stephen Hunter.
By the way, am currently reading Feast Day of Fools, Burke's latest. It features Hack(berry) Holland. So far, very good with the usual assortment of sociopaths and sinners seeking redemption.
